No one can tell if she'll be the next big thing or not. If she does well, then she will. But if she messes up and gets big-headed then maybe she won't. I'm not a hater, so I don't wanna say she doesn't have the talent or anything. But she's still young, and even other singers were probably a lot like her when they were young too. There's definitely room for improvement. And i wouldn't say the song "Friday" is the worst song, because trust me there are more awful and meaningless songs out there that are sung by the popular artists you love, like Lady Gaga perhaps? I'm not saying I hate Lady Gaga, but I think I'd choose "Friday" over "Judas". At least Rebecca's song is just honest and very tween-like, just like herself. Again, i'm not a hater of any artists out there.

Oh by the way, Rebecca looked really pretty in Katy Perry's music video "Last Friday Night". :) When she grows up, i'm sure she'll be a lot prettier. And maybe by that time, her singing has improved too. So there's nothing impossible. She could be the next big thing, or not.

I hope not. I don't really want another Justin Beiber.. She does look cute though, but I don't think singing is for her- she could be an actress instead, so many people won't say bad things about her singing anymore....

oh! songs and singers nowadays has been reached its popularity not just because the lyrics are well arranged nor the singer is awesome, but because they have been a certain appeal to the listeners, hype, they say. rebecca black happened to be as lucky as justin beiber who lack music talent, really.

haha, even though she has many haters, well guess what, they sing her song unconsciously. maybe because of the composition of the song. people can easily memorize/get a certain lyrics because of its rhymes and repeated words. haha 'friday friday, gotta get down on friday, everybody's looking forward to the weekend, weekend'..

Hi cathloe, she's WHATEVER! hahahahah.. Actually that song sucks! It might be better if other sings it, right? Have you listened to Butterflies by Alana Lee? Alana Lee is Rebecca Black's "batchmate" on the singing company.. Alana is much better! :)

Haha! I doubt it. She's only gotten so much attention because of how bad she is...99% of the world think she's a joke. Next big thing? Not unless she switches to comedy, or if you count the wall of shame.

i truly hate the fact that she was harassed and was hated by so many people just for a song. but i have to admit her newfound popularity is because so many celebrities feel sorry for her. no one deserves the comments she got but i do not think she will make it big in the music industry. her voice is actually pretty goood but it is not amazing like that of lea michele, alicia keys, taylor swift etc..

It's hard for me to say, as this is not my kind of music, but I can see it appealing to very young people. Given that it was a project promoted by her mother, I have to say that speaking as a songwriter myself, it's a pretty good job, not a great song, but not bad either for what it is, and remarkably professional given the circumstances of its making. And Rebecca herself clearly has talent. That is my view. Also, the song itself is harmless and wholesome, which is no bad thing in my view speaking as a Christian. As I say, not my thing: I'm too old for it (smile). But given the circumstances of its creation, it's a pretty good job.

Who really knows at this point. She could be the next big thing or the next thing that is well known for a time, but fades into obscurity rather quickly. I am honestly indifferent to her to be honest with you. Then again, I am honestly indifferent to a lot of music these days that are considered popular. I think that in general, the music industry passed me by a few years ago but that's really fine with me. I'm not really not too fussed with what is mainstream and what is popular. So who knows. Success is something that is extremely fickle. Especially in the age of the Internet, where a lot of people tend to be able to become known more easily. You can be known easily and people can really get bored with them a lot of the time. So who really knows what is going to really happen. Fame is a fleeting thing and the public is fickle. Some people are one hit wonders and one trick ponies and only time will tell.

Rebecca Black probably is not going to be the next big thing, because she doesn't have the appeal for that, at least in my opinion. But, I don't think that she deserved to receive that much of bad reviews. I mean, ok she can't sing that well and her clip was pretty funny, but that's not reason to call her "Friday" song the worst song of the decade. I have to say that I didn't love her, but I did not have anything against her either. To be honest, "Friday" was in my head for days! And, a lot of people say that hate it, but when the music used to play, everybody knew the lyrics. I think that a lot of teenagers liked her too, so, she can have a career as singer. She is not going to be Taylor Swift or Miley Cyrus, but she can have a good career.
