Mere knowing is useless unless it is applied into action. Do you agree with me?

Though there are many times that it does seem strange to have our minds filled with useless knowledge, I don't think that it is at all useless to carry that kind of information with us. The reason that I don't feel that this is the case is because of the fact that there might come a time in our lives that we will have to put that knowledge into practical use. For example, I know how to change the oil on my car, but I've never put that to use because my husband typically does it for me. However, if he wasn't around, then I would have to put that knowledge to practical use.

Knowledge will only be powerful once you've used them and succeed. If you do something about what you know and still fail, then it is just a mere knowing and not knowledge. There's always a difference.

I don't agree with you at all. All knowledge is important. Learning all our live keep us alert. One never knows when some learning will come in handy. I like learning a lot of different thing even if they are not useful when I learn them.

Yep, I agree. If we just knew something but we don't apply it to improve our lives or whatever it is we need to improve, then it's useless. It's like a spam, all it does is consume space.

The more knowledge you have, the better. It will be too late that you only learn something when you need that kind of knowledge. That is why people who keep learning can solve problem easily and will be more successful than people who doesn't like to learn.

Hi DoctorDD! While it's true that knowledge is power; if we don't know how to use it or how to use it for good intentions, knowledge is basically useless. But the thing is this, whatever he know today, we'll surely use it in the future. Let's just hold on to what we know now and continue learning. Do you believe this: the teacher will come, when the student is ready? When we are ready to learn, we'll know where to use the knowledge that we have.

I strongly disagree. Wanting to know things is the important thing. I do not believe the Only reason to know things is to use it to make money or to hurt or help someone. If that were true , then Every college student that didn't use his or her major to get a job would have to repay the college they went to.Knowledge is a gift , not Just a tool.

Having knowledge of something but not putting it into practice is like hoarding gold but not utilising it.Knowledge is sacred whether it is of the material world or esoteric. But just stuffing the mind with it and not using it for the good of the society will lead one to become vainglorious and bookish. Its like a doctor who has studeed upto the highest levels but sits at home doing nothing. What use would be his knowledge if he does not utilise it to heal, which is after all what he is supposed to do with whatever he has learned. This applies to all fields.

No, I don't. Think of the all the useless knowledge people carry with them through out life. The teacher thought it was worth while enough to teach it. And if it was college it cost some $$ to learn it whether you apply it or not. Look at all the people looking for work that can't even get a job and they had good educations!

Yes, it is useless to know lots of things if you cannot apply them in day by day activity or if you keep the knowledge for yourself. There is a saying: There is no difference between a stupid person and a genius who doesn't say or do anything. So I have to agree with you, good point you have here.

I would disagree with you here friend, I think the human brain is so designed that it would always gather knowledge no matter what, it could be applied to immediate action when needed or it could just store it during it's life span for future application or whenever a need arises.

knowledge of knowing about things is not important. Important is to implement that knowledge into the practical life. By this anyone can have real knowledge about what he learnt
