The habit of reading books is decreasing day by day. An educated man must keep it in mind that if he does not read good books, he has no advantage over an illiterate person who cannot read at all. So, always try to read good books. It will help you in the long run. Do you agree with me?

I strongly disagree. Just because a person can not read English or Hindi or any other language Does not mean he/she is stupid. And just because a person Can read makes them brilliant. It is good to knoe how to read but this doesn't mean one Must read books. There are many good articles and blogs to read. And some can read the cliff notes of books. And there are audio books so the person who can not read , Can Still enjoy literature. But to say one Must read books tp be knowledgeable in today's world is wrong.

No I'm not saying that reading Isn't important. I'm saying Do Not dismiss people who just happen to not know how to read English. And to many a blog is more enjoyable that a book! If I Have to read what You Deem enjoyable then I rather not read at all! I didn't get into reading until I got to read What I Wanted!

I think a man who cannot read and obviously cannot write is called an illiterate. I have never mentioned that knowing of English or Hindi is essential for being educated. You may know only your mother tongue and I believe you will find a lot of good books in that language. If you are at home in English, obviously, you will have the chance to read the maximum number of best books available in the world.

I personally believe that the Internet and the television are primarily responsible for this gradual decline in reading of books.

There are so many things that we can benefit from reading. I have found that reading can be very relaxing. It's a pleasant activity. You can learn and gain knowledge by reading a good book. You can gain quite a bit, to say the least, from reading. I've always enjoyed reading, and I think that I most likely will.

I have been a reader since I was a child. I started reading every night before I fell asleep as soon as I was old enough to read without expecting my parents to do it for me. With that said, I still do that today because I feel like I am able to learn from reading and it is also something that relaxes me. Now that I've got children of my own, I am teaching them to really enjoy reading as well because I think reading will take them a long way.

I cannot agree with you. I am an educated man, but I don't like reading books, because I find it boring and it is a single person's imagination there. I have read many books in the elementary school, because it was compulsory, but I didn't enjoy them. However, I have finished an elite high school and I have just graduated from University. I don't like to read, but if I do, I will read history and economical books, but not literature.

First of all, opinion varies from person to person. Secondly, I think history and economical books are also books. I have never mentioned that an educated man should only read books of literature.

Reading is also more calming I believe. I don't read all that much but I used to. I found that reading took me back, or forward, or to a whole new place and helped me with my stress and emotions. Plus, just the feel of a book. I'm a very imagiantive person so that helps.

Hey you are absolutely right! reading books is an amazing habit.specially the story books like novels ,i like most. reading is alway of getting expererinces about many aspects of life. it also enhances the various faculties of mind like thought and imagination. readers can know a lot about the writers by reading their works and can also judge their mindset to a certain extent. and yes! there are examples in the which tell that people change their mindset also by getting influenced by a particular piece of work. and you can judge the craze and the reading sensation which the world gave by just knowing the sales figures of the books. so there is no doubt that the reading is one of the best means of intertainment as well as infotainment. Happy mylotting!

I do agree with you. Everyone must keep in mind that reading pays a lot. You will learn so many things through reading. You will also develop your comprehension, reading abilities and many other benefits of reading.
I do enjoy reading. I read novels. Aside that I enjoy it, I know that my vocabulary is increasing and my reading comprehension keeps on improving. I hope everyone will make reading a habit! :)

Reading is great for stimulating your brain and enhancing your intellectual abilities. I agree that reading does help you in the long run and reading should be practiced everyday. However, we should not feel superier to illiterate people, because we are all equal and their reasons for not being able to read may be due to a disability.
