Hello
Lotters,
I just want to let you know that there's still the difference between the Guidelines and the rules. but of course we can't deny that there are times we mentioned mylot guidelines as rules. It's something that we usually reminds the new comers about this site, even to ourselves read this.
Just wondering if any one had a hard time understanding the guidelines? I don't think there's anything wrong discussing about it because there had been a lot of discussions about the guidelines before.
Do you know any part of the guidelines that is hard to follow? or Taking time to look for the guidelines that is even harder to do?
Sometimes, we ourselves should look into the guidelines and see what we have violated as well.
Comment you Later.....

"Do you know any part of the guidelines that is hard to follow?"
Sure, I do. I myself have a hard time following these particular guidelines:
Don't respond to a discussion until you've read all of the responses.
I can understand when it comes to something that has been resolved (and by resolved I don't mean it was given a BR), but for discussions that receive pages upon pages of responses, it's just impossible for a lot of us to do that.
Make sure you search for existing topics before starting new discussions and don't post similar or identical postings.
With there being millions of discussions on here it's kind of hard to avoid starting similar discussions. So I've kind of given up on searching for existing topics. However, I do my best to make my discussions my own to help avoid them getting deleted.
As you already know the guidelines on here are exactly that...guidelines. The are not hard and fast rules. All any of us can do is interpret them and go on from there.
Happy mylotting!

At first thing before confusing about the star in our name what mean about then checked in the guidelines and read in various discussion which I now I known about. Other things a little confuse about the ratings why some old comer here are less in rating number which other in the mid are higher than them - what is the real determining the rating, by participation, by commenting or what?

hi visavisa read the guidelines and questions and answers again you missed the info about rating.mylot admins does not rate us. in the
guidelines it says all of us should plus or minus rate each person wr respond to as it makes our stars move up or down the percentage in your star is your mylot reputation the higher you get the better paid you are as our reputations and stars are figured in the earnings algorithm . so now you know that we rate each other,us nobody else so we all should be rating as it helps us to move up and you to move up. so plus everyone you can and if you think it is stupid or insulting hit the exclamation point and report the
discussion to mylot admins.

Hi Letran
Actually I found that early on while getting the deletion email alerts and viewing the guidelines in a separate tab simultaneously helped me clearly understand the violation.
I feel have the vast majority of the guidelines memorized. Simply because even to date I still review them. I tend to enter a great deal of discussions questioning the guidelines and although I do know the guidelines memorized I do like to take a look and quote. So while there I tend to skim them again to make sure nothing has changed.
I think everyone should visit them often as it is dependent in assuring we do not violate them and what better way to understand for future if we don't continually view them. It certainly helps to have full understanding here.

Very funny visavis,
you are still a young guy. I think what helped me memorize them is that I have been helping so many new members that each time they had questions I had to go look up the guidelines. This made it easier to memorize them.

Hi LK
In my starting days I was little confused about them even after reading all of them as some of my discussions got deleted in past. And i was confused about reason of deletion. But after having little more experience I can understand the reasons now. So yes guidelines are quite clear here but still due to inexperience some user can break them not purposely.

Hello AKp,
Unfortunately I believe this was written in the terms that they will delete us with out any kind of notification. well, I got confused also in this kind of situation when I was a newbie but I was a Newbie and probably didn't give a damn before. it literally took my deletion to realize my mistakes. even when i started over, i still made my mistakes

Hi.LK. When our responses to or comments on responses get deleted does it amount to violation of rules or guidelines or terms so much that our account gets deleted? You seem to have experienced the situation once and yet you say you are still making mistakes, knowingly. Why so? Recently a couple of my responses/comments got deleted which unnerved me somewhat. I have become wary about joining some controversial discussions. I have started wondering if I am going to meet the fate as you did. If so how can I rejoin as you did?

Hi!
Well, I must say that when I join sites, I really don't read the guidelines that much.. same here with mylot. So I'm just surprised when my comment/discussion was/were deleted all of a sudden. Only then did I consider reading the guidelines.
Honestly, the guidance about not making poll like discussions is the hardest for me. One of my discussions had been deleted because of that reason. What if I asked like "Do you...", then is it going to be a poll?? I see others who do such discussions, but why are theirs not deleted? I see some discussions poll like but they are not deleted. So I got confuse. I want to start discussions asking, but I'm afraid it'll go to the trash for that reason.
About stating earnings and others, I think I can control myself with those.

Hello Bannybanzie
,
That's probably because I have experience this as well and the reason was based on what the people tends to consider in reporting the discussion. unless the admin see's it himself but mostly done when people reporting the discussions.I didn't read the guidelines during the first time i went and join here back in 2008. like you, I control myself from violating the guidelines. Have a Nice day

I read the guidelines, but did not really comprehend them clearly. I thought as I write and respond they will make sense. So far I'm doing well with my responses. Responding to quality discussions they'll be accepted according to the guidelines. so theory and practice make sense.

I have taken\
to going back and reread lately as there might be some changes.
Now I must finish commenting on my new discussion.lol.

well I myself did not read the guidelines honestly, but instead I have read blogs regarding this site. In that way I could comprehend the guidelines and rules implemented on this site. The guidelines on this site is not that hard to follow but it is hard to comprehend.
