I need help guys! I'm using a Macbook Pro, and I have several Hi-8 videos that I need to transfer to my computer. Obviously, Hi-8 videos are the older tapes. (Older than Mini-DV tapes). And my video camera for the Hi-8 is already broken. I really need to transfer those Hi-8 tapes to my computer so I can edit them. I have a video player for Hi-8 tapes though, and it's connected to our TV. (So, yes, we are able to watch the videos through TV). But what I need is to transfer them to my Mac so I can edit them. What can I do? Is it possible to record what is shown on TV to my Mac? I have a connector from Mac to TV (the DVI adapter thing. I forgot the exact name of the cable though. But it's the same cable you connect for the projectors. This cable enables me to connect my Mac to the TV and see my laptop screen in the TV screen). My question is, can I do it vice versa? Can I put what's on the TV screen into my Macbook/laptop screen and record it? So I can record what's on my Hi-8 tapes on my laptop? Or if the above methods cannot be done, what else can I do to solve my problem? Please help me guys! Thank you so much in advance! :)

I think Hi 8 is the advanced standard. I have to know more about it. And in India mainly we are using Windows(not MAC).
