Do something he enjoys and fix his favorite meal for dinner. Kids his age seem to like to be entertained and have big and outrageous things happen right infront of them. Make it the best day ever. My grandson likes a pancake with a face make out of cheerios and some chocolate chips.

That depends on how much is your budget for that occasion. If you have a tight budget, maybe you can invite in your house a few close friends of him, prepare them some snacks that kids their age loves. Or if you have a bigger budget, then give him a party and invite all his friends. Or maybe simply ask him what he wants for his birthday, that is to get idea to what he really likes then.

I think you should give him a small party and give him a gift that will gonna make him happy. If your out of budget, then say happy birthday and give him a big hug. I think it should be enough to make him happy.
