I really hate it when my menstruation period starts as I suffer from dysmennorrhea almost always. Sometimes, the cramps are too painful that I thought I'm dying. How do you prevent having dysmennorrhea? And if it happens, how do you ease the pain?

Well some old folks believe that sour and acidic food can cause menstrual pain. It's not yet scientifically proven, but it seems true.I just follow their advice and skip eating acidic food a week before my menstruation.I'm also drinking caffeine containing drinks to increase my menstrual flow like warm coffee, tea and cola and ease the pain. What I know is if your dysmenorrhea occurs on the first day,it's just normal. You can take pain relievers to control the pain.On the other hand, if it starts or continue the second and the next day,you may need to consult a doctor.Maybe you're having other gynecological problems other than simple dysmenorrhea.

I have known that warm bath can relieve the pain because it relaxes the uterus. Some even use warm bottles and place it in their stomach.

hmm.. i don't think i can help very much in this kind of discussion but this is what i know. well i think you can't stop the menstruation because it's a routine process in woman's body until you get pregnant but that's only temporary. Now,, since my girlfriend also had some painful day during the menstruation i do collect some information in the net to help her get better when the painful comes. here some suggestion i may add. you can use herbs for medication for reducing the pain thats come. Ginger and lime is proven (for most of the woman in my country which is Indonesian) to help reduce the pain that caused. Eat more fruits and vegetables and you can fill some bottle with warmth water and place it in your stomach and back. Hope it help..! :)
