Why does people donate to those who already has countless ?

Recently in India Rs.900($22) Billion found in one of Lord Vishnu's temple. let me tell you that they are still counting, cuz only one room has been opened out of six. I can't imagine how much will they found inside again. Apart from this i have an question to ask you. If temples have such big amount of money, why does people are still donating to them. I would rather donate to charities who help to improve poor peoples or aiming development of malnourished kids than such temples who already has countless amount. This is just my point of view, i don't know if i think wrong. I would appreciate if you post what you think in that case. |Sorry (if) my English is bad| Thank you.
