Of course you can if you know the trick, it is a long and tedious process, you need to download special software to make that possible. it is not advisable at all.

In order to use a cell phone as a web Cam, you need a phone that's designed for that, and even so it's not nessarrly going to work with your PC. But, there are phones that do have web cam fuctionallity because they're designed for video calling. However, the technology is in its infency and work best over wi-fi or 4g speeds and not all carriers have them. No, if you want a web cam that bad, you're better off either buying a mountable one, or getting a computer with a camera already bulit into it.

The most practical answer I can find is here: http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A0oG7pCojS1OBWUBmAEPxQt.;_ylu=X3oDMTExbTV0dDR1BHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMQRjb2xvA2FjMgR2dGlkAwRsA1dTMQ--?qid=20100711232454AAwZ6xT It involves downloading two separate softwares: one for the PC and one for the phone. Note that your mobile should be java based or Windows mobile and should connect to the computer using active synchronization by USB or WiFi (presumably Bluetooth would also qualify).

Well, this seems to be pretty interesting stuff. i will certainly watch out for this discussion and see if we can have the inputs from our folks. Will definitely try it out once we have any thoughts on this. Also, we need to work on the way we should install the phone on the monitor and that too in a reverse way so that the camera would be pointing to the used who is sitting in front of the computer. GM, have you tried connecting the mobile to the computer and checked if it could stand fine. I mean if the phone has a proper place to fix it to the monitor, and is it still without being shaken when you are working with on the computer?
