Keep feeling negative when I know it's not good for me

I have books telling me, the whole world is in my hands if I want it and I can grab it. Yes, I agreed.
I have people looking at me and say, " you can achieved more than what you have now".
Yes, I agreed.
I do my job and I like doing it until I lost the spell from the work I do.
Then, I began to stumble with the idea that I'm living a life and making sure my job pay my bills.
I'm not aspired and not merely feeling excited with my work and my life. I have become quite an unhappy girl myself.
I read books "The Secret" and trying to see if I could manifested into better being and turn my job into something that I like. But then, the more I resist the feeling that I do not like my job, the more I persist to be working on my job. Does it mean, the more you resist, it persists???
I just can't help feeling rather negative with things as they have become a routine. Who likes a routine job, I wonder? I got bored, honestly speaking.
So, I turn to movies and I chosed horror movies to "thrill" myself. That's the least I can do so far.
Travelling, swimming, eating, dining and what's more I have done it YET, I am still feeling rather unhappy. Im getting more negative....
I guess I need help.

It is not enough to make a living. work also has to make a life. Yes the routine jobs become boring in course of time. But there are different people in the world, some want thrilling and challenging tasks every day, others who shiver with the thought of anything new and challenging. I think one must try to find a job which is in line with one's temperament, skills and talents. Find out what type of work you like and examine if you have necessary skills and talents. If not then try to acquire and change your job. otherwise it remains just what you said-a means of paying your bills"

Hi Jacklintan,
You know working on your business requires much more hardwork and grit than working for somebody else where you have limited resposnsibilities. It is a tough job and sometimes returns come rather slowly. But never loose heart. Try to expand your business horizon. find out what better you can do in your business, where are the growth opportunities and how to grab them. Networking is very important in any business so you can try to expand you network. Always remember that people approach the cheerful person rather easily. This is struggle of your life so cheer yourself up to face the odds.
I remember a seen from the good, the bad and the ugly-70 miles in to desert, Clint eastwood says to ugly while leaving him in the middle of desert-"nearest town is 70 miles from here but if you can keep your breath I think you can make it" I find this sentence ver inspirational in tough times.

hi Cactus,
Thank you for the wonderful advice. Very true. I believe you're a business person as well.
A thousand miles began with a single step. And every single step determines every inches to a successful journey.
:)
Thank you, friend. you're one great motivator.

hi cactus.
I like the way your advice took place in here. :) Very true whe you said, "it's not enough to make a living. work also has to make a life".
So far, I don't know how many things I like to do in my life as there are many things I like to do. Hmmm...
Of course it makes sense too to do things that you're good at. Maybe I'd been working on my business for quite sometime. I don't have the privileage to change a job or employed by someone. :)

Sounds like you are in a rut. You should try changing your routine. You might be depressed. You need to get up and move. Change when you do things. Do things for yourself. When you are in a rut you feel put upon, as if the things you do are all negative and not good for you. Change things around!

I was looking for the word, rut and I wondered if I have become one. Hehe
It all started looking for the best job where they provide better money and prospect.
I'd been working on it too long I guess, and I got tired. I have never really rest well.
Change?... Yes, I guess so.

Well I think almost all of us has been where you are.. I also feel the same way like you do most of the time or everytime I am bored...
But like what you said you know its not healthy for you to stay negative so I guess your the only one who can solve that..
and about your job, dont worry you are not alone theres a lot of person out there who even hates their job but still sticking on it because its what giving them bread and butter...
Sometimes when its always there we forgot how to appreciate small things around us... that actually can makes us happy..
I hope youll feel better soon, and dont forgot to smile :) and fight those negatives feelings your having...:)

"dont forgot to smile" is the best advice ever. It's much harder to be negative and depressed when you're smiling.

HI Jacklin!
I think yu need some changes. Why don't you find other job? When you get offers or get job in other field you can settles with the current one. Find jobs that you like. Horror movies is good but the comedy is much better!I get to watch the comedy movies whenever I feel down. The laughter will light myself up!(^^)

Unfortunately we become part of a machine. We all start out with all this energy and all these dreams, then we wind up just going through the motions. The older we get, the harder it is to break free from that. I have been there myself, I wound up in a bad place myself. There is an old saying, you never get rich working for someone else. Working becomes something that just helps pay the bills, then it is like chasing yourself. I feel this way.

first, where are u from? secondly, you can start up doing something that you like.
fear of living is what keeps us working.

You are feeling unhappy because you think you deserve something better. So you can't accept the present situation. But the more you try to escape from them, the tighter they will grab you. So the more depressed you will get.Try to accept your negative thoughts, knowing that they are also part of your life. First you feel painful when you face the truth but later you'll find it's not that harder than at first. Anyway work is just work, doing a boring job doesn't mean you are boring. You can have your life, see, you have many activities, that's your lifestyle, who cares about job, just for the money so you live your life!

I don't know how to recapture the thrill in your work but I do know in your free time you should seek what you Like to do. Maybe there is a career in it! Hang in there. I'm living proof that things do get better.

Self help books aren't always the best thing. They make you feel as if you must do things this way or that, or make you feel as if you don't feel this good, or don't have this much then you aren't doing things right. I would suggest just looking in the mirror each day and saying "I am a good person, I am great at my job and I enjoy it." You will eventually believe it yourself, and you will feel better about yourself.
You can also say things like "I work to better myself, and my family."

Read the Secret again and follow the directions. Determine your goals, surround yourself with these goals, make a picture board, put pictures on the mirror, write your goals over and over and place these in places your eyes rest. All this is done to train your subconscious mind. Make lists of the steps necessary to reach your goal and research your goal through the Internet and books. Get your mind working toward your goal and get yourself so excited about the goal that no negative energy can enter into this process. If you continue to have negative thoughts make lists of them and then find a way to turn them around.
You don't like your job, it's boring? Right? Well take your job and break it into small jobs, then figure how you can do each of these better. Only you can challenge yourself and you need to learn how to do that. Many of us have the same job all our working life so it is up to us to make it interesting I don't care if it's sweeping floors, each day I can learn how to do this better, maybe the way I sweep, even how long a stroke I make, maybe I need to trim the broom to reach into the corners, maybe I need to make a exercise routine out of it, like deeper knee bends. Anyway try some or all of these, you are smart you get the point. You are in charge of you.

Hi Jackie!
Yes sounds like you are tired of routines, I am not blaming you as I too get this way from time to time. I would say that anything you would like to do, set out a plan of some type and not rush to do them all.
Little by little you will see what you like and do not like and ex out anything that you definitely don't. But do not be hard on yourself if you can achieve something, at look at all the pros and cons before, you begin another phase.
Life is short sweetie and unless we try we will not know what we missed out on.

You may be suffering minor depression or situational depression...where life is boring and nothing seems like it's worth the effort.
Setting goals is a good way to motivate one's self, achievable goals that is...Start with something you know you can accomplish with a bit of effort, attaining that goal may be enough to spur you onto others and thus reduce this feeling of ennui.
If it doesn't help, then I suggest you go to a doctor to find out if you may be suffering from depression and what can be done about it.

If you are not happy with everything sometimes it is really hard to feel negative no matter how you try. But you must put into mind how this can affect your present situation, because it can surely do you no good knowing that that can hinder a better understanding for you to acquire some ideas on how to solve it. And we have to remember that our life is much better than some other people in the world who are really less fortunate. Just try living with it for a while and accept it until you can figure out ways how to finally acquire the kind of life that can truly make you happy.

One way to look at it is to actually write down what the good and bad of your job is. If the negative far outweigh the positives then move on and try to find other work. You can list things like (stable job, good benefits, good pay, bad schedule, bad co-workers, etc..).
I think it is natural to get bored of your job. You can either improve your job or improve your free time. Take a class, join a club or take on a new hobby can take you away from the everyday mundane activities. Taking on more work at your job and trying to increase your skills to get a promotion or department transfer could also be an option. And honestly routine can be good in that you know what to expect and you aren't under a lot of stress at work so you have more energy when you come home and do things you really do enjoy.
But the true goal is to find positive things to think about. If work isn't good make your home life better so you can daydream about it while you work. If your home life sucks try to do more activities outside of the home and make your job better. Hope this helps. =)

hi diala,
I have done the things you mentioned and they helped.
I have thought it over and I feel, my level of confidence have gone down and my piles of work is gettin' out of place. So, might be both causes me to think in such way. Maybe, I haven't achieved what i wanted and often, I got frustrated with it.
Hope this will take a toll of change.
