There were times in my life when I experienced weird and unexplainable events. I always dismiss the thought and try to come up with logical reasons for it. Being a scientific person I know I should not believe in that stuff, or should I?

I've seen and experienced a lot of paranormal stuff too like ghosts, elementals like fairies even a UFO. Paranormal experiences is probably as old as man himself so I wonder why they call it paranormal instead of just normal. Perhaps science should study further human energy fields and over lapping of time zones, like what you said you are a "scientific person", of course religion or religious beliefs would give you a different explanation. Have a nice day

where I live, it's not considered that unusual to beleive in Faeries. but they're not the sanitised, cutesy, victorian style little pretty things with wings and clothes made of petals. oh no.
and they're rather a nuisance, to be honest. they like to steal things. I definitely beleive in them, but I didn't used to. until I saw one. that soon changes your mind. the first one I saw was about double the size of a cranefly, with a small, twisty, black skinned body, odd little face and small wings. it didn't use the wings to fly, as they are not physical creatures. they're made of energy, not matter. so it moved smoothly through the air rather than fluttering or wing flapping. when we moved to this part of the country, it became a lot less surprising to see them from time to time. they don't all look the same. that one was quite dark and organic looking, others are more lit up and less solid. some look fairly human, others more animal like.
they tend to be in more rural areas than in towns and cities, and I expect that it's this, along with a more scientific mindset that has led to fewer people seeing them and fewer people beleiving in the possibility of them.
but in Cornwall, it's not unusual to beleive in them or even to see them often.

yeah fairies, I mountain climb a lot when I was younger, they manifest in different forms, from a large dark figure to a beautiful lady, sometimes you don't see them at all but you just get pelted by shiny coinsI'm not forcing anybody to believe me

well the only thing you can do is make your own judgement based on personal experience and on accounts of people whose judgement you trust.
personally I am quite a scientific person, but I do beleive in a lot of paranormal things, ghosts included.
I don't believe that this contradicts science, it's merely things which haven't been explained by science. it doesn't mean they are not possible.

I agree. I think it's very arrogant to believe that science knows everything important and there's nothing mysterious left. After all, most the mass of the universe is mysterious dark energy and most the rest is mysterious dark matter and there are probably multiple universes.

I don't believe in Ghost. I do however think there are spirits. The difference being that spirits were never human in nature as we are but something else entirely different. I base this not only on my own personal experience with having seen what some call "shadow people" but also on what I have read from the bible. The bible also says not to seek familiar spirits "deceased love ones", because you may be inviting unclean spirits into your life.

I've seen a couple of ghosts but nothing very noteworthy. I know there are cases where people who didn't know that a place was haunted saw the same ghost others have reported. Then there are things like poltergeists.
I once saw two television shows in the same series, one about ghosts and one about UFO's. I was shocked that the people who believed in ghosts and claimed to have experienced them seemed a lot more rational than the UFO people. I though that UFO's were more consistent with science than ghosts so people who believed in them would be more rational.
I think that many ghosts are recordings of past events that somehow get "played back". I also think that this can explain other odd things, like how you can do weird and unnatural things to an embryo and can still correct them to produce a normal organism. The playback mechanism is somehow involved in embryo development so it corrects the strange things and tells the embryo what it should be like. I suspect that some, perhaps most, paranormal phenomena involve dark matter somehow interacting with normal matter and/or electromagnetism (it's thought that it can't do the latter). This isn't really a scientific theory because I can't think of a way to test it as there's no known way to detect small amounts of dark matter (large amounts can be detected by its gravitational pull).

I have to admit that I do believe in ghosts. I do believe that they exist, that they are around us. I have had experiences that I couldn't explain logically. There was no physical explanation for them. I don't think that it's something that you have to believe in. Like you, I try to find some kind of physical or scientific explanation for something. I think that you should believe in what you've experienced in, as well as believe in what makes sense to you.

I saw a ghost with half upper body before in my haunted house. Now I moved out and live at another place but still the ghost followed me. I still hear the similar sounds made with chairs and tables, cupboard, and I now write a ghost word in chinese form to scare him away. It works though.

Maybe there is really a ghost, but in my whole life I didn't experience to see or experience unexplained events. I think such thing is a work of evil. If someone loss faint in God, he or she is vulnerable to experience such things...
So the only way to avoid it is always pray and have a strong faith in God...

Hi jonahh, While I don't believe most ghost stories that I hear, there is much that we do not understand. I feel that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, in fact we are energy and cannot die. Most ghost stories are brought on by fear and repeated so many times that there is little likelihood that we are hearing the truth. I think that we may have spirit guides or guardian angels and that we can sometimes get messages, especially in dreams. Blessings.
