Hi there,
Yes last week we had some sort of maintenance downtime and when the site was back up the news section was gone. Like you I always read it twice a day and unfortunately it looks like it was removed.
We have not heard if this is permanent or not as no one has said anything. Sad too because while I am logged in here I always read the news and or commented there. So for now I have gone back to my regular new site.

Yeah, I used to read the news and comment there from time to time as well. I noticed that after the last maintenance work it was no longer there. I believe that it is most likely permanent as it is not just the sortie that is absent on our "home page" but also the tabs at the top related to the news and our comments regarding the news stories have disappeared.

Yes I miss the news here and as PA says seems permanent. Maybe they were not allowed to use it anymore. At any rate we will have to return to our regular sites to view them there.
Thank you for the BR.

I had noticed this as well, but I didn't mention it and have not seen anyone else mention it either until now. We could earn a few cents by commenting in the news section when there was something of interest in the news or if it was a slow day on the discussions. Now it seems that we no longer have that option. I do wonder why the sudden change, but nothing has been said by myLot, so I don't really know.

Ha ha, you guys are funny. I'm thinking it is a cost-cutting measure of a service that wasn't used much. There was certainly a cost of feeding the AP stories to MyLot.

LOL! That is an interesting theory, Tony, but I don't think that it is correct, especially since several weeks ago when I was having exchanges with a certain person that is no longer here we got told a couple of times by Admin to basically "keep it friendly" and "don't get too heated", although we both thought that we were keeping it friendly.

I didn't see one today either. I rarely ever looked at it and really didn't notice that it was gone until you mentioned it. I hope that it is just a error for the ones who used it alot. I need to do some searches on here today and i will see if it pops up.

I, too, miss the "News" section of the site. I was disappointed when they removed it from the site.

That is true, I like to read the news too, that is good to know and read news in English, but I don't always read that, so I have not noted it yet, but thanks.
thank you and see you.

That's what I'm afraid of. I liked to hit 3-4 news stories; easy money. I did notice that few people left comments but those that did left great comments. We had some good conversations. It is one way to touch the world - discuss around a news event. Oh well.

I don't think that it was lack of participation in that area that made them change it, although I could be wrong. Perhaps it is that they want to focus more on the discussions, so they got rid of the news section, especially since people already use news stories to start discussions, which allows us to comment on the news issues in more of a discussion format rather than just getting paid for leaving a comment.

I did really not notice it was gone until you've mentioned it but wow it is really gone. I can't believe it. Commenting on news stories was something that I did from time to time, as I found it rather interesting. It was a website that I was already at, so why not check out the news on myLot. I mean, that really is going to help me keep in touch with the events of the day for sure.
Sadly its gone for right now. Hopefully it may come back sooner rather than later. It did add a little bit of something to the website. But I guess we're just going to have to get our news elsewhere, if we wish to keep up. A shame as I found many of the stories to be rather intriguing. Even if often times it was not the good type of intriguing. I guess myLot figured that the news was not all that important for their website.
