I work in sales and I have to approach people on a daily basis, where I ask them do they want to go on a vacation and some people look at me and say they are not interested but then there are others who look at me because of my color they won't talk to me but they will talk to my other worker who is another ecolor than me.. I just don't get it but I still appraoch them and tell them about the special that we are having I guess somethings just don't change.

Racism works on both sides. We did a research once with our fellow students asking them to fill out an anonymous survey. We were shocked. It was a group of international students, and 75% of them confessed they prefer not to work with people of other race and nationality. They seemed so friendly together, but the survey proved that they were pretending. For some reason, hate is still strong between different races and nationalities.I've been mistreated by foreigners,by people of other religion than mine, so it would be the biggest lie to deny that racism doesn't exist.

Language wasn't the main reason, but things like religion and cultural differences were mentioned.

I am not at all surprised by your survey results. I noticed international students in my school always stayed in their own groups. It was true for both European and Asian students. I think it has more to do with the language barriers than hate. Also they perhaps, did not feel at home when we talked about things happening in California.
But did they answer in the survey as to why they did not wish to work with foreigners?

For me in this government not because they are injustice but after the Armageddon no injustice all is justice so racism is not the cause to be not there.

I saw racism many times while working as a cashier. It was mostly with Eastern Asian employees. I noticed that these customers for no reason would get irritated at them. Some even passed their job to me like calling credit card companies. My Asian colleagues spoke in clear English. Yet the customers pretended like they never understood them and would say something like "what did this girl say? I don't understand what she is saying". It was mostly done by women who were in their 30s or 40s. The men seemed care free. And no, they were not just coming from whites, but also from people of other colors. I did not see the older and younger generation behaving like this though.

I was very stunned by the customers' behavior. They were sweet and nice to me, but when they talked to my Asian colleagues they totally changed color. And of course, there was open discrimination against certain groups.
Once there was huge line of customers standing to get their things rung. The one I took seemed like a young woman in her 30s. Just behind her was an old lady in wheel chair. I don't remember what exactly was wrong with her, but I think she did not have one leg. Right when the younger lady was paying me she whispered in my ear, "The next lady is disabled, best of luck!" I really had a hard time believing that she said that to me. When I came home I told my mom about it, but she refused to believe it. It happened something like 7 years ago. But I still cannot forget it.

People naturally fear things that are different it is only those who are enlightened by actual experience or education that are not.
But also alot of the time the racism card is used out of proportion -
I have seen a guy push to the front of a que and as someone said something they turned round and accused them of being racist and caused such a seen the poor guy standing up for his rights left the shop without what he wanted to buy and he did not utter one racist word.
I have also been called racist because I took part in a live survey on attractiveness and my top 10 girls (picked from a selection of photos) had no variation of color and were what you would call English roses, the girl asking the survey (think she was Jamaican) looked at the results and asked me why I did not pick anyone of different background and if I considered myself racist.
I am sorry to hear you suffer discrimination every day, the people who do that to you are not worth you wasting your breath on, well done on still trying though!
Things will eventually change... it will just take a few generations to get rid of ingrained stereotypes

Yeah because as you see the new generation are mixing pretty soon there will be no white, black, asian, because everyone is mixing no one is one race anymore.

Well, from someone who works for a company who believe it or not white is a minority, people there are quite racist in some ways for sure. It is always about Color when it comes to Music, many times food, etc. and it can be quite annoying. When are only certain people supposed to only listen to certain music, or TV Shows?
It really frustrates me sometimes, or they start to feel they are all that and better than me. Makes me wonder if people have truly forgotten where they came from, and since when it one color the only one on this planet? People should be able to get along even if they are white, black, green, purple, brown, red etc. If we were blind it would not matter.

Yep, racism will always be there. More often than not, you will be judged by how you look. I'm not talking about racism alone here. You'll find that some people will more often that not look at how you look like and judge you from there.

I am so sorry to hear that. I don't think it is ever going to stop. There will be people who thinks they are better than any race, just as there are brothers and sisters who fights over which one is good or not. And no matter how sad that reality can be, I also don't think that it is ever going to change.

Racism still exist nowadays. Lots of people think that their race is dominant and superior to others. I have a suggestion for you, you can post a poster saying " No to racism" maybe it could help. Do not mind them and focus n\on your work. Just think that it is business and nothing personal. lol. Anyway, be proud of your race no matter because that makes on who you are.

It's just how humans are created. They tend to look at superficial differences - like color, caste, nationality, creed, religion, job-function, levels of intelligence, etc.
Even with the same group, humans tend to find out the differences and show that they are better than the next person. That is probably the way we humans have evolved, or rather our brains - a part of which is the reptilian cortex that we have inherited from our ancestors millions of years ago-and I am talking humanoid ancestors - I mean the reptiles, this is probably the part of the brain that want us to be the alpha male or the alpha female everywhere.
Every group or person in power at that place and point of time wants the others to kotow. I am not saying that it is right.
As we evolve higher and our understanding of what is right and what is even more right grows, we should leave all such difference aside and try and live harmoniously as creatures of this cosmos that respect all life-be it human or any other form.
No offense intended.

This is really sad, that after too much changes and technology gone beyond imagination yet people are still having this kind of thinking.
I wonder what's wrong with color.
I don't understand why people judge other people on how they look/s.
Why can't they just be considerate enough to understand that we are all human regardless of color and race.

People can be really so narrow as to judge other people and treat them according to skin color, it's just plain stupid. At least you'd know right away what kind of person you're dealing with so just let them be that stupid and you just stay nice because that's the right thing to do.

It will never end. A racist can just pretend but inside he/she is burning of hate.. What do they gain anyway? I think they fear equality. They just can't imagine some 'color' can be better or equal to them, so the only security they have is to cause mental imbalance in their victims in order to feel superiority of a kind.
If someone express some kind of fear, even if in indirect way, just know you are doing great in what you do, because the person (racist) knows he/she can't and unable to do whatever you are capable of doing.

I think this is so wrong! It is realy hard to belive that in 21st century this things are still happening. It is time to realize that we are all the same. When we are happy we smile , when we are sad we cry . All that matters is are you a good person or not.
