Best Free! Media Player for Windows / myLot

I have the Media Player that comes with windows (by default), and that is Windows Media player, It gives good sound and image quality, but it do not works with some file formats. Do you use any Free media player, if so please let me know about it.

Tree VLC player. I have not preferred any other player after using VLC player. It has all features and it is free too...
