What was your first job?

I know having that very first job is always memorable. The jitters, the unreadiness, the hassle, the rookiness of doing something after we have spent so many years in school. Or maybe that job that you had during your time in school to maybe support your family or yourself. My first job is in a call center as an agent. And I was actually under a telephone company that gives out a lot of incentives! Woohoo! It was challenging but fun because of the rewards that I was getting. I also developed my communication skills then and thankful vety much for this job. Share your thoughts! Thanks!

Wow that's great! Im sure you are enjoying and that's what's important, that we learn to love our job and not just working hard for the money! 5 years is a long time, you should have a loyalty award by now!

I'm guessing that we have the same situation. I have been in the same company since 2004 until now. (start counting LOL). Pay is high but could be higher in other companies. Its always the people that makes us stay, I do believe in that. If you're happy, you're gonna be motivated to work and money is just gonna be secondary. I have experienced like 3 or 4 times increase in my pay, and thankful for that. Loyalty, not really to the company but to the job and to the people. I hope you get your increase! I believe that hard work always pay off, big time! Good luck!

LOL! Funny thing that you mentioned that. I will have the 5yrs award this December :P Honestly speaking, my pay's not that high but I love my team and my boss' really great! I learn a lot here technically and I can say my social outlook improved a lot. One reason why I don't like to leave this company is because of the team. Not the company but the team and my boss. True I may earn more if I go to another company but I'm still enjoying here so.. Here I am :D (but I'm still hoping that they would give me an increase soon. *sob*)

My first job is a reports specialist and audio editor for a scam company who supposedly updates Yellow pages but in truth, they scam people for commissions. After I found out the truth, I immediately resigned from the company. I'd rather be jobless than scam people of their money.

Oh that's a bad company! Good thing that you were able to discover the truth about the real intention of the company and that you got away. This is also the thing with first job, sometimes we want to work so badly just to earn money, that sometimes we grab the next opportunity without realizing that we got into the wrong one. At least this has been a lesson right? Thanks for sharing!

And I salute you for that! That is one tough job! Herding carabaos? I can't even control my dog LOL! A job like that will definitely teach me that life is hard and you must work for it. Learning it the hard way at an early age, I know has benefits because it makes a person stronger and wiser in the future. Thanks for sharing! One tough first job you got there!

I remember my first job, it was indeed memorable. It was not related the course that I finished and I didn't mind the compensation that I'll be receiving. What was important at that time was for me to be employed after having a degree. The experience was indeed worth it. I was able to get along with my co-workers and supervisors. It was fun working with other people in that field.

The first job is always memorable, whatever it is! We get to experience different kinds of things in our first job and we expect a lot from ourselves that most of the time we may or may not screw up but it will definitely be a learning experience from that day on! I myself got a job which is not related to the course I graduated in, I didn't mind. The compensation was not that great but better than the regular wage. I have learned that if you have a good, and harmonious relationship with your co-workers, you will love your job whatever it may be! thanks for sharing!

THat was something that I regret, I was not allowed by my mom during my teenage years to work. It must really be exciting to work at a fastfood chain, whatever it maybe. Because I know that you will definitely learn a lot there! Especially cleaning up and math (cashier), and cooking and a lot of other stuff. Dont be like that! You are fortunate that you get to experience that :) Smile!

My first job was looking after a shop by my friend for one day. I had a bad memory of it. I lost an earring which was stolen by a passerby and I quit after that.

OOh that's bad! Tsk! Sorry to hear about that! Well, I bet it was a long time ago and that could also be a lesson learned? To always be careful wherever we are.

My first job is also related to customer service. I worked as sales representative at my aunt's souvenir shop. Then I also worked as a quality assurance supervisor in an export company. Recently got a job in a call center too,for curiosity and yah,you are right, the salary is decent worth for those irate customers and their bad mouthing not bad for a decent salary, incentives and benefits. Besides,we don't see them have a good day

That's great! Uh huh those irate customers! Well youre right we dont see them so no problem! Its not like they're gonna eat you up when they get mad! Its good that you have experience in sales and the good thing I got from customer service is I was able to improve my communication skills so I'm very thankful for my first job!
