I use CCleaner, Spybot Search and Destroy along with Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes to keep my computer clean. I also defrag my computer and run virus checks once a week.

It seems that everybody here has some good advice for you. If you want to keep your computer running smoothly it doesn't take much maintenance. First you want to keep an antivirus program like Avast always running to keep your computer protected and occasionally run a thorough scan. Also defragment your hard drive every month or so depending on how much you use your computer. If you install programs try to keep them from starting when you boot your computer unless you absolutely need them running because the more programs you have running in the background the more of a drain it will put on your computer's resources. There are some good software programs that will help you keep your computer optimized. There were already a couple of them mentioned and I actually use the "Tune Up Utilities" and it is a great help although the other program is a good one also. These programs have special features that after you become familiar with them are very helpful in keeping your system tip top. If you ever have any serious problems there is a free website that you can get good help in their forums if you want to check it out at: http://www.techspot.com/vb/ I am in no way affiliated with them.

Why don't you run a malware scan? I would recommend running one with MBAM, it removes most malware in 5 minutes using the Quick Scan option. Download it here: http://adf.ly/2FdHp

Scan for malware once a month - use Avira and Malware bytes. Disk check the computer at least once or twice a month. Defrag every after use - I suggest using Auslogics defragmenter for this then use CC CLeaner to remove clutters from your system - make sure to hand pick the registry entries for removal, you might remove things that you should not remove. These steps will keep your PC in tip top shape, that's for sure.

Always maintain a good antivirus program. Also, refrain from getting into sites that are probable sources of malwares, adwares and viruses. Always do error checkings and disk defragmentation. It really helps maintain your personal computer's speed and efficiency.

First step is to know your Pc performace. At this point, I use "Speccy". The result depend on your PC qualification. You must use this program frequently to know there any change PC performance on spesific location and if you find it, try to find real problem in that area and fix it. If your problem internet connection, for me it mean 2 thing 1. Can't surf at all. You may had problem with your modem. At this point I try to surf in different site and if result is same, there's something wrong with your modem or your provider. You need to unplugged your modem for a few second before start browsing again. And if the still same it mean your provider is under maintenance. 2. Your connection suddenly slow. At this point, there is possibility that your computer had too many cookies and I use CC cleaner to fix it. 3. For a couples reason you may had problem to update your software. When that happen, you need to uninstall the previous software entirely (including registered number software). It's important because the newest program always try to find your registration number on previous one. Use "Revo uninstaller" I don't know that you using "deep freeze" program or not but if you use this program (to protect your hard disk against virus) you need to unfreeze first before you unistall or update software. I hope this could help......

updated is not they key to a faster computer. I suggest you install deepfreeze to make your computer safe from any virus infection and keep it fast as it is. try search for the word deepfreeze and carefully do some research because it's kinda complicated if ou are new to it.

Every person has there own ways about keeping their PC "fighting fit" I use Disk defragmenter and and disk clean up once a week, Have two harddrives only installing on my second one and if I have to keeping 250gb free on the main at all times. Make sure all your drivers are up to date and if you install one and notice a slow down just perform a roll back until a "new" driver is released. (New is not always better). Also make sure you run anti virus regularly and remove as much as you feel comfortable with in the start up folder, Most peoples processes run at about 80-100 on start up which can put a lot of strain on the OP especially if your using windows, Try and ignore all these programmes that promise to make your computer faster, they tend to just add more processes that the computer needs to run and maintain. If your running on a newish mac just laugh and ignore what I have said as to me atleast the start up time is less than a minute and it has never been slow!
