Sweet and sour...

My daughter is 22 months old and she can be the sweetest little girl WHEN SHE WANTS TO BE, but with the flip of a switch she will be defiant, ignore any demands, and do whatever she wants. I know she understands what I'm telling her when I say don't touch that, sit down, stop yelling, etc. And as far as discipline, she thinks it's funny. A spank on the hand will lead to her laughing and hitting my hand so that obviously doesn't work and timeouts in the corner do not phase her at all. She's a smart little girl and knows exactly what she is doing but I think curiosity and "terrible twos" has the best of her. Anyone else have a almost 2 or 2 year old? Share your experiences or methods that work?

i found time outs worked when my kids were little. i didnt sent them to their rooms, they had to sit on the stairs. maybe this book may help. here is the link http://www.parentbooksummaries.com/the-new-strong-willed-child/

Thanks! We used to send her to her room until I recently read that kids shouldn't associate their rooms with timeouts. Their room should be a fun place where they enjoy since they sleep there. At out previous house timeout was on the stairs but we recently moved and have no stairs so now it's in the corner of the living room. I'll definitely look at that link.
