Is it important to add tags to everything?

You need to tag you're discussions to make sure people don't come by and tag it with something crude, off the wall, or something you don't want them to tag. That's the only reason to tag, that and to find relevant discussins in the search.

I tag EVERYTHING except any Private Messages (PMs) that I send!!!

nops.. it's not all the time important.. Generally when I read discussion, I also check tags of that discussion.. if I miss any tags in discussion.. I put at the end of response.. else skip as you do.. :-) tags are important for mylot to allow user proper output with the help of tags.

I think that there are lots of people that add tags as that is something that is expected of them.I also know that there are as many people that do not add tags to any of their discussions that they have started or other people have started.I myself do add tags to discussions, as it is more of a habit that i have got into.

I care to tag my posts. Sometimes it's annoying but this wil help people to find discussions on given topics. Others skip tags. Finally you decide what to do.

I always tag the post because it is very useful for other users when they search any discussion through search box.

I think it's important to tag as it helps in finding the discussion later on. Now don't ask me exactly how does it help. ;) I tag usually every discussion I participate in. If I am sure I'll be back somewhere again, I may skip first few times. But ultimately I do tag. As for PMs, that depends on my mood. There are some users who have got a lot of Pms, and they say it helps to organize by tagging these Pms.

yes it's important. it helps your discussion become a part of discussions that have the same nature or tags. it also helps when search engines try to look for you. the more popular the tag, the better. when you are grouped with similar discussions, people tend to check out the other discussions and read up for comparison. if they like it, they usually respond to it. now if you were one of those grouped in the similar discussions, it would be good for you :D

If the tag is going to be different from what has been given by the person who started the discussion then it is worth giving. Otherwise there is no need for us to repeat the same tags.
