Many think that John Fruciante was the best guitar player for the RHCP that is alive. I for one would have to agree, it will take a large amount of creativity to change my view/opinion to the above statement.
The first track that was released did not seem to capture the RHCP feel. Maybe they are saving the best for the release date of the album. It has been years since their last one so I guess it would be important to same the big splash for that time.

As you can see or hear, RHCP is the kind of constantly renewing band. From a punk rock style they switched to something more into alternative approach. With 'Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie' I concluded that Klinghoffer redesigned only the guitar part, but RHCP is made of differenct personalities, Flea, Kiedis, Smith..well they put and concatenate their different worlds. Josh' guitar style steered the band in a more raffinate way, Frusciante was rather the 'let it go' guitarist, now Klinghoffer in my opinion did a very good job, and listening to the new songs is always a rejuvenating experience.
