Anyone noticed the new people that have popped up?

This morning i noticed i had 2 freinds requests. one was from a gal that had made 8 discussions. answered none. another was from someone that had no discussions, only 1 friend and when i went to see the friends profile, the friend had about 20 so friends with no discussions or anything, just like they were ALL brand new. have you ever seen this before? what do you think would be the cause? like a school or something? it makes no sense to me so i just denied friends to both parties.

Hi, that is the nicest thing you can ever do to a newbie. I have a tendency of requesting friendship even before reading terms of service in any social networking site, I did the same here and fortunately it was accepted. I value a first friend more than the site I join. Personally, I never deny someone who ask for friendship- even a spammer is invited but only to some degree that my law of spamming applies.

I always received a few friend requests every week. But, i do checked out first their profiles before i approve them. I tried to make sure that they are active, at least with answer to 1 discussion or even create 1 discussion. I prefer not to approve those friend request, who don't start nor answer any discussion. I tried to avoid getting spam message in my inbox anymore. So far so good, my recently approved friend requests all are doing fine.

yes, thats what im saying. just what i do to. its a good policy. if they are going to be active and helpful and participate right, they will make a few discussions but respond to more. one gal had 8 discussions, responded to 1. who wants that?

Ohh, that sounds imbalance. I prefer a member who likes to responds than those who like to create discussion but lazy to respond.

Hi bunnybon, What makes me wonder is how the heck do they find you? I've had quite a few over the past few months and denied them all. They don't start discussions, and they don't answer discussions. Very confusing to me. And quite a few are pushing for you to sign up for some work at home scam. No thank you, I'll pass, because I know I'll get spammed and they'll get deleted immediately. Yes, they do make you suspicious, so I just let it go.

Hi Kashmeresmycat yes I had two whom I refused and they came back and had one discussion and one response.I was nice and accepted them and I will be damned. I was spammed for work at home schemes, data processing at forty dollars entrance and you name it they wanted to let me " in on the ground floor" well I told them they had abused the privilege of being accepted by trying to spam me so I am deleting you at once. I do not accept as friend anyone who is just collecting people for referrals as I refuse to be used like that. I have plenty of wonderful friends who do not spam me at all.

I have had the same thing, but i have had a lot more than 2 people try to add me.I have in the past added a few people that have not had any discussions started that then did sent me loads of links that i did not ask for or what i wanted.I tend now really not to add peoploe, as i have loads of friends on here and these are people that do not send me any links.

i know. thats why now, i just dont accept anyone unless they look legit. just dont need the hassle of looking them up to delete from friends again.

Maybe they are just mixed-up and still learn how to do things here. Maybe they'll become good myLotters or not at all - you can't tell now. Everybody starts as a newbie. there is no need to suspect that he he will create problems :))

thats true Hatley. if they wanted to participate they would have some posts of discussions, plus answer some. fannita, i have approved some that had 1 discussion NOT about making money and are participating in others discussions. when they are new. at least i know they want to participate then.

That would be odd. Hopefully it isn't cheaters to where a person is a mylot member gets lots of email addresses and refers themselves in different names so they can get more referral money or friends to join and tell them to just join you don't have to do anything. You will just help me out. I'm not sure how the referral program is on here though on what the referral has to do before you get the money. I used to see things like that on sidetick that I thought was odd. Someone having more money in their account then anyone since sidetick would post who had the most points for the month so far. I would look at all of them and some of them just joined that day, didn't do anything and didn't have any friends to have more points from referrals either so I knew they were doing something to make more points but couldn't figure it out. It didn't make since. This is a good idea for a discussion.

I have been seriously thinking about going in and cleaning out some of my friends. There are people on my friends list that haven't even logged on in over a year! What do you think I should do about those?

not sure. it depends on if they used to be quite active. some dont come here for a long while then come back. i dont mind those. i get rid of or dont except ones that hardly have any activity ever.

Well dang, just think of all those spam PMs that you aren't going to get now, and all those great income opportunities you are going to lose out on!

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. If I get a request from some one who has no activity, I usually let the request sit for a month or so. In that time, if they've started participating, then I accept them. Those that don't particiapte either 1.) decided that the Lot wasn't their cup of tea, or 2.) were just collecting names for spamming purposes. Those I delete. In your case, Bunny, maybe you've touched the hearts of some newbies, who've had similar experiences to what you're going through right now. Empathy can be a good motivator, even if you haven't figured out what to say yet.

I have been accepting them but if I haven't seen anything of them in a while when I go thru and sort I will get rid of them. And if their posts aren't ones I am interested in then I usually delete them.

Hi Bunny! No, I don't get those invitation. If I ever get those I will checked them first and surely will reject both of them. I have seen the same problem before and anyone send me friends requests without make post any comment will totally rejected by me. I am not welcomed those who are here to take advantage from others.

Well I myself am still kind of new around here, but I would have done the same thing you did. I am careful of what friend requests I accept. If I see they don't start or reply to too many discussions then I don't accept their friendship request. I only add people who I see take an active part on MyLot.

Personally I am being quite selective with who I allow as friends on here as well. It seems sometimes that when you allow people to be your friends that never are going to be really active in here, a lot of times this is a waste of acceptance as most of the time they are the ones who SPAM you, etc. I often wonder what some people are expecting this site to be? Like Facebook, or somewhere you can just collect friends and thinking the money will just be there without taking time to do what it takes to earn here? Sometimes I think they will never learn.

I have gotten some friend requests like that to, and next thing I know I get messages requesting that I sign up for their site, or how I can make lots of $$ online. I try to help out the newbies, but yet, you have to be leary to. I now wait to see what type of discussions they start, or what type of discussions they answer.

I think I am a month late to this discusion, but new people popping up is a regular occurence here in myLot. I am aware that some of the people that send out friend-requests have other motives, so that when you look at their profile, there is nothing much for discussions, much less participation. So, for me, I don't accept friendships right away. I let them simmer in my 'friends' tab for a while until I meet them up in discussions. Currently I have (98) pending.

ive never had over 2 at a time pending now thats funny and interesting for sure. doesnt matter about the late part. heck, ive answered ones , discussions that is, 3 yrs old.

I have not done any perusal on my friend's request but right now i have 20 pending requests and not until they've reached 50 posts i'm not gonna accept them. Don't have any idea why people just keep adding friends when they don't participate at all. Maybe they've confused mylot as facebook?

thats true and so silly and useless when people just make friends on social sites just to see how many they can get . even when its ones that dont participate in anything.

Ya,I also have these types of friends.I do not know why they join mylot then...Its better them to join social networking sites.... I am having lots of friend requests and I chose only good and useful friends...Who do the nice discussions coz I am here to get new things.. Thanx......

yes thats another thing. why do people waste time on the other social sites when no one even talks with them? its better here,
