Unlike you, i don't have insomnia. It's just that last night, i had a sleepless night for maybe an hour, after i have opened the door when my husband arrived late from a drinking spree with office mates. I have already been sleeping from 9pm to 1:00 am , when he arrived. We still shared stories for the day, and after a while he bid me good night and went to sleep. But oh my, i keep tossing and turning but still i can't sleep. I can't open the tv because it's brown-out because of typhoon Juaning , that has just passed by. I simply just closed my eyes and thought of good things. I guess, i slept after an hour.

I too suffer some nights, and just can't nor do I even go to sleep. My sleep pattern is really messed up I believe. Some times I will go two days without sleep. I've tried a-lot of things. I've tried getting up a little and watching some t.v., and this does not help me relax, it only gets me interested in normal shows and watching them. I've tried reading, but I have found it doesn't help me any. I've tried cutting drinks with sugar and caffeine out of the equation about 2 hours before bed, and only drinking water. No luck to anything. The only thing that I think has really helped me ever, was melatonin pills. 5 mg kept me relaxed and sleeping all night. I do not like normal sleeping pills either as they can be habit forming.

From what I have come to understand. Melatonin is naturally produced by the body, only problem is, some things can affect the production of this. Thus lowering how much our bodies produce.

i always have a hard time sleeping during working days. i work at night so i guess it explains.. whenever i find myself wide awake and loitering around the house, i just find something that i can do to kill time such as go online and surf, read newspaper, eat, listen to music, dance in front of my mirror, check my phone from time to time, chat with whoever's awake too.. things like that..

Not that this is good advice, but i tend to watch a lot of Netflix, go on the internet (including MyLot), write in a journal, write a book, listen to music, drink, chain smoke, etc. LOL. None of this helps me get back to sleep...But it passes the time anyway.

Sleep is a blessing of nature. Sleepless night is a disease called insomnia. Now under the condition of insomnia, what i do to pass the sleepless night is --trying to sleep. First thing i do is to calm down my mind and try to take rest as much as possible. I know the anxiety that I am unable to sleep itself will aggravate my insomnia. Hence, I try to get sleep by reading a book or hear some soft music. I will not go for TV or computer as the bright light from the monitor will not help my rest. Though I may not get a sound sleep, my efforts will be to give rest to my body and mind.

When I'm having a difficult time sleeping, I try to do things that are very relaxing and calming. For me, it usually helps, but other times, it does and I'm up all night. Luckily for me, this doesn't happen very often at all.

I have many ways to pass a sleepless night. I think when we are in this situation then we can listen some kind of music of our choice. And also we can play some computer games. I think gaming is the best way to pass a sleepless night. And also you can watch movie of your choice like horror or any types of romantic movie.

I suggest you drink a warm milk. Milk has tryptophan and it helps you become sleepy. Try not to sleep also in the afternoon. Some people sleep in the afternoon and had a problem sleeping during night. Also, try to have an exercise, take some vitamins, not medicines, because if you do, your body will become immune to that medication. You won't be able to sleep without that med. Or, try to read a very boring story. And lastly, the very famous one, counting sheeps. hehe That's all. Hope this will help you.

First, to avoid insomnia, do not drink coffee six hours before sleeping (if you are a coffee drinker) and do not eat a full meal two hours before you sleep, and have a quick shower before you sleep. To pass those sleepless nights, I read a novel, this is really very effective to me, but unfortunately not for you. Maybe, you can do a little exercise so that your body will be tired. Also, it will help if you adjust your sleeping patterrn

Sometimes, when I can't sleep, I read some boring book. That usually work for me. Watch TV does not work that much, because I always want to watch the next show. If you can't sleep, maybe you should try some tips. - Stay away from big meals at night. - Avoid drinking too many liquids in the evening. - Take a warm bath. - Listen to soft music. - Enjoy a light snack. - Do some easy stretches.

from scientifical point, taking a warm bath is not a good idear before going to bed. after the warm bath or shower, your body gets warm and heart beats quicker. it could contribute more to the insomnia. from the doctor suggesting, people should take shower or bath at last half hour befor going to bed. good luck

playing games on my cellphone helps me sleep at night. It helps me relax and takes anything not worth worrying that would impede my good night's sleep. You can also try reading a book or anything that will tire your eyes.

This is a kind of thing that i hate to happen with me again.. Its hard to sleep even you like to close your eyes but no rest. The best thing that you need to do is try not to think about the problems and think those happy moments in your life. This is gonna help you and drink milk before to bed. This is good for your body as well as others says its good to drink before to sleep. Try this and be happy always.

I suffer from insomnia too. To pass sleepless night I read a book. I exercise in the evening to make my self a bit tired to sleep better later. It helps. Also helps lemon balm tea. If great natural way to calm your body before you get to bed. I don't advise you to take any medication because the next day they will make you tired all day long. So use them is you really need it. Exercises are good way to make your body tired and craving for sleep. I wish you nice day :)

I would prefer lying on my bed and listen to mellow music. It helps a lot to relax the body. I also do push-ups if I still cannot get back to sleep. For some reasons, I utilize sleepless nights to think of different solutions for my current problems, jot down important ideas and what to do. It helps solving problems that I'm facing. I also think about future plans and what to do to achieve those goals.

I normally surf the net or watch tv online. For me personally, I can go without sleep for 2-3 days and then after that, I will be sleeping like a log. That's my own personal method of ensuring that I have a good sleep (though it comes only once every few days). I have tried taking sleeping pills but it seems that they don't work on me (unless what the doc has prescribed are just placebos).

Insomnia is hard to treat and cannot be easily get rid off, It's like having an addiction to something which is really hard to change. I to for one experience insomnia, the best way to get rid of it is by practicing a sleeping routine... you need slowly adjust yourself to the preferred amount of sleeping hours. You don't need to quickly change your scheduled sleeping hours because if you do, it will just worsen and frustrate you. Practice so by slowly pulling off a good sleeping patterned time. Second, drink or eat something that can cause you to become sleepy some drinks that can make you sleepy is milk. Don't drink any caffeine related drinks before going to bed, since caffeine has an effect that can make your system up until late. Do workouts or any physical activity before putting yourself into bed, sometimes having your body working most especially physical activities can make you tired and makes you want to rest for the early night. Lastly, if your symptoms gets worse don't hesitate to consult a Doctor so that He/She can prescribe you with the proper sleeping medications.
