Anyone who has experienced true insomnia knows how horrible it truly is. 3 months ago I developed a rash on my ankle, a really bad one so I went to the doctor. He gave the usual antibiotics, For a total of 3 of them which did nothing all the while the infection, which had the doctor baffled tried me on a new drug called Cipro.
20 Minutes after taking the medication I started to notice the nasty side effects, and that`s when I started researching it on the net and found out it was a type of dangerous (it had 2 black box warnings). Basically if your exposed to Anthrax this is the medicine your given, which got me even more scared.
At the time the doctor was not sure if it was cancer or maybe something worse. It was a 10 day prescription, After taking it has prescribed after the 3rd day I had to flush it because I felt it was killing me.
Now to the insomnia, which was a side effect I did not sleep for 8 days and did not eat anything for a week. Even after I stopped taking the medicine I still had insomnia I figured it was because it probably took 2-3 days for the stuff to get excreted from my body.
I really feel sorru for you guys and gals was chronic insomnia, not even with ambien or xanax was I able to sleep.
Going that long with no sleep, You start to go crazy I dont know the record for staying up the longest, but without sleep you will have a heart attack.... also without dreaming you will also go crazy and die.
If you have chronic insomnia please ... God Bless - Larry

Wow, it sounds like you went to a trauma. Luckily, I have never experienced insomnia nor know of anyone who experiences it. But I have read about it and actually did a research paper on it once. It was baffled at what I found, I get anxious when I miss one day of sleep, I could just imagine, how it must be being deprived of sleep for more than 2 or 3 days. I don't think I ever want to go through that.
