DOS or Disk Operating System is one of the earliest form of Operating Systems. It is like the one celled amoeba in the evolution of Operating System technologies. And, It is single tasking only. In the 80's it is dominantly used on IBM computers. Others which are called accordingly to their brands and makers like AmigaDOS, AMSDOS, ANDOS, Apple DOS, Atari DOS, Commodore DOS, CSI-DOS, ProDOS, and TRS-DOS. Today DOS can be installed within any Operating Systems on different kinds of ways or solutions or workarounds or techniques. Linux Operating System is just an imitations or a likeness of UNIX Operating Systems.

What your heart desire is best for you my friend. Just always be practical and simple. Anybody who start on simplicity can be a master on any complicated situations. If you choose Linux well, for me that is better than MS Windows based on my experience. But of course anything should be studied, make researched for the solutions or workarounds or technique or tips, then learn, use or apply and experience them. I suggest you should start your adventurous quest and exploration on Ubuntu Linux. Good luck.

I understand my friend.dos can just be a part of any running OS bt it can.t be main running OS bcoz we are not living in 80,s.and i am not that much tech geek also.so it would be better to choose between Linux and window.as i think window is much advance then Linux bt it is also costly.linux is free of cost.so why not i go for Linux?what do u think abt it?
