I have been a member of Mylot for four years. Never before, that I know of, have I gotten viruses on here. The anti-virus I am using has a pop up on the screen of the site you are on if there is a virus or problem with security on it. Over the last week or so I have been getting them while on Mylot. Nearly daily. Have you been getting these too?

No I have not been getting them. what anti-virus do you use? The only change I have is that I have to keep signing in almost every time I open myLot. I used to stay logged in for weeks at at a time.

Thank you I will try that! I get so upset when I type a long response to a discussion then it disappears because I have to log in and I forgot to copy it.

Try logging out, clearing your cookies, and then logging back in. Hopefully that'll do the trick!

Oh my.. well I'm glad I've never had this issue yet. Though the CashGopher, which is also from mylot, I never was able to install in my pc due to issues I don't know. But hopefully, this problem will be solved and hopefully, it's not really part of the site..

I get it everyday. I think it is one that the anti-virus puts on. One of my responders explains it.

A couple of weeks ago, I was on mylot on a public computer and after posting a response, there was a virus attempt. It was kind of embarassing because I had to tell one of the staff since there was a message on the screen that shows the different drives (I can't think of what the screen is called right now), which said "your computer has been infected" . I had to let the staff know that I was not on a bad website, but luckily they have an excellent anti-virus system. ARG! Viruses are so FRUSTRATING!

Yes, they sure are. The one I get is this:
cdn5.tribalfusion.com/media/common/pop/pop/-11.js
This is a popup virus. Whatever that is! lol I just got it again.

I haven't had them alot, but there have been times when I have been on and got one. I have had the most warnings when I visit a profile page. I usually visit before I accept or send friend requests.
I think that with any social network site there is always more of a chance. Sounds like your protection is working good though.

I think I still have a virus the protection isn't finding. My pages load really slow and my computer gets hot more than usual. Tagged was so bad I quit going on there for awhile. I just thought it weird that after being a Mylot member for so many years I should just start getting them now. Makes me wonder why and what Mylot might be doing differently. Thanks for your response.

hi celticeagle I have had just one and it was partly myfault but anyway it was caught and quarantined until I push delete. warning to all do not load a site that says you have virus so load us
and we will get rid of it at once. what they are not saying is I dump a virus in your computer so I can get rid of it and c harge you big bucks to load my anti virus system.I accidentally loaded it and before it could do a thing the anti virus that comes withe windows XP professional was locking it up. they then did a sweep and mycomuter is virus free. also do not be taken be ecards that proport to be from a friend or relative as most of these are a new way o dump a mean virus into uour computer.

Hi Hatley. Thanks for the info. I had actually wondered if some of these anti-viruses places didn't do something to make themselves look good. Just wasn't sure what it was.

I have never gotten anything like that from myLot. Better check your computer. Sometimes malware can be installed on your computer then pop up things. It will make you think it's coming from the website but actually comes from your own hard drive. I had one like that several years ago that drove me nuts til I discovered what was going on. There is also a redirect search engine virus out there that can get in through your media player. Lots of this stuff can walk right by the firewalls and the antivirus software especially the free antivirus software. Best of luck. Viruses are always a headache.

But, if that is the case, why does it only happen in the evening on Mylot. I have Mylot up most of every day. Thanks for the info and taking the time to post here. I certainly respect the little grimlens.

I think you need to check that anti virus. There are some anti-virus that mistakenly identify some sites. Another possibility that cause this is some anti-virus automatically blocks access to websites that are not on their lists.. try to have it checked by your technician or you can make use of some ideas on the web regarding the problem you have stated...

I thank you for you input. I have free anti-virus, AVG. I used to have Norton and didn't have these problems. Just can't afford it anymore. Techs cost money I can't afford. I have a warranty and get support with that but not sure how that will help me with this. Thanks tho, just the same.

I've not had any problems with any virus-alerts. I've got the newest version of Norton anti-virus programe. My experience of Norton anti-virus program is positive. I just wonder how can mylot get viruses? I do hope it will stay free from any viruses. I enjoy to be here.

Whoa! Is that from myLot? I have never experienced that yet. Ormaybe my antivirus protection is a sore loser at detecting such. Anyway, I hope that it isn't from myLot. I don't want viruses roaming around my computer. What kind of viruses is your anti virus detecting?

No I have never gotten one since I have been on mylot, which has been a long time now, and I hope i don't, because sometimes I log on from my android phone when I am at work, hope this is not something new to worry about now.
