Revisiting Final Fantasy 8

I have just recently downloaded FF8 for the heck of it and I still find it very awesome. Yes, in this day and age the graphics might seem to be a bit too ancient, but the gameplay is still at par with a lot of today's RPGs.
I first played it 12 years ago so everything is still fresh for me even if I have already gone through the same stages. It's still all great.

Final Fantasy is one of the best FF games second to FFVII for me. The idea of how the enemies are connected to your level wherein even the seemingly week caterpillar becomes stronger as you do makes the game difficult enough to enjoy. Although I may say that the story is a bit weaker than FFVII story. I think that the elements of machinery and how vast the world is made the game fun. As a kid I enjoyed playing this game. Most fans of this genre enjoy it because of the compelling story line in which I think most modern games are sacrificing for graphics. I would rather play a game in 2d with a very good story line than a modern 3d game with little or no story line whatsoever.

I agree with you, and not all games are about graphics these days. I couldn't care for graphics personally. I prefer how the actual ingame engine reacts to things that happen. For example real world destruction, bullet holes and marks, fires. You know things like that.

Wow, nice one there. I am a Final fantasy fan too.I played that game a long time ago and yes your right.At this day and age the classic Role-playing game are still at par with the new ones.Actually, when it comes to storyline,the old role-playing games are better since it really touches the hearts of the gamer.The only downside I think is the graphics.
Well FF8 has good graphics,to good enough for a PlayStation one platform.I miss the Balamb garden and squalls renzozuken.lol=D

Yeah, I think it is the best PS One game I have ever played (another discussion idea!) Just like how God of War 2 is my favorite PS2 game. Or is it Devil May Cry? Haha!

I kinda stopped playing at FFX (Id like to forget I played FF X-2) I like video games but no I'm not really a gamer in a sense that I pWn a lot of people every time I play. I just like games for the storylines.

The graphics are still good. Fanil fantasy has some of the best backdrops ever seen in games. I cried a few times playing this game. Yea yea whatever, but at least i admit it. Its just so.... deep... its like a novel. Well actually playing final fantasy is like reading a novel since you read alot and the game is not a mere game its like going on a journey in the head of a good authur.
