Do you still believe in a second promise whereby the first was not yet realized?

In my own experience I may believe but never expect too much because others just give you promises and still never fullfil it,so I just never expect until it just came. Some people really are just taking advantage of your kindness that they keep you promising of something yet nothing was given just problems and headaches.These kinds of people are never tolerated once they cheated me and my trust will also be gone.How about you people are given empty promises by your friends or just seen people?Please give your opinions.
