I was raised in a very strict Southern Baptist home and I haven't strayed far from the religion I was raised with. I very well believe in God and I believe the world is lost without his presence. However I can not tell you or anyone else how to believe. It is up to the individual to decide what to believe. I hope you figure it out which way to go because in the end it has to be your choice we here on mylot can not per sway you to go with one or the other. I can only speak for myself when I say I do believe and I feel a lot better believing in a higher power. I also can tell you I have friends who are other religions then me and I have friends who do not believe at all in real life and online. That is a decision we all have to make. Just like they can't convince me he isn't real and I wouldn't want them to try. I can't convince them otherwise and they wouldn't want me to try.

Well, I'll add this link it's a site that has an array of answers about God. The key though is to be spiritual, and NOT religious! You should start by reading the Bible.
Here's the link: http://www.gotquestions.org/
I Pray that this will help you, God Bless you

The Holy Bible is not religious, God is not religious that is where people are confused religion is man made rules and ways, that is why God is against it. the Holy Bible is Gods instructions for life and the Answers for life. It sounds as though you have your mind made up to not Believe in God, That site is there to help, But if you are not willing to explore it fully than all I can do is pray for you and that you will find the Lord and save yourself from eternal damnation.

it depends how you chose to define god.
if god is just an invisible person in the sky looking down on us, then he is turned into something easy to understand for a human, but also easy to dismiss as a ridiculous concept.
to me god is existence, the force that creates life.
sometimes a religion, in trying to make god into something that can be understood creates a set of rules, that can eventually be a force for bad, rather than good.
however the failure of religions, sometimes, that become trapped in the desire to control people, does not mean he doesn't exist.
because god is unknowable we often chose the god we want, either to worship him, or to try to destroy him, the real struggle is to try to find the real god, not the god of man's creation.

Alright, I don't think that it's right for you to be asking people to try to convert you into following a religion. The only one who can decide if you want to follow a god or a certain church is you. This could be based off a religious experience or the feeling that god is watching over you. I am a proud Atheist and don't believe in god or a specific religion myself. But that or any other responses shouldn't influence you to follow something that you might not truly believe. Remember, It's all up to you; don't let anybody change that.

Religion could not send you to heaven, it's Jesus. In John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life: no man cometh unto the father but by me. This verse made clear that no religion will be able to send you to heaven.
I believe in the existence of the Almighty God. Just consider the things you can see around you, does just it exist without the creator?

Well, religion is often a matter of social dogmas. Many people believe what they are told, just because it is what they understand as normal or moraly adeccuate for their lifes. In your case, I guess that this kind of religion is not for you, since you don't seem to have a social background that support your set of beliefs...
In my case, what I believe about God is not told by any religious group, it is just my conclusions of what I see and feel about the world. Could you believe in something like that? I am not sure, but if you would like to discuss that, I already have two great discussions where many people posted their opinion and the pros and cons about being a believer or an atheist:

UMMMM,if you believe that there is god well probably gods presence will be around you because your mind is sending it to you but if you do not believe in god at all then never you will find what is the difference of having a invisible friend and comforter.

It looks that you actually believe in god or trying to believe.
It's also good that you are open,
He(God) is almighty who is present every where, and he has given you a chance to enjoy his creation, and He takes cares of you always, no matter whether you believe in him or not.
