I found apartments right behind where I'll be working...

No I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. However, I thought I'd see if the apartments I originally wanted to get were still available. They aren't, or atleast they aren't showing up on hotpads.com. Now I'm looking at apartments that are behind where I'd be working. I didn't know they had any there. It's actually very very very behind as it's a road right behind the store but a very long road that loops around and goes by what looks like the highway. In any case, I'm looking at these apartments and thinking, are they older or newer? The look of them looks newer, but at the same time a bit older. I believe them to be older then another set of apartments not too terribly far down the road. the ones not too terribly far down the road are new, probably five years old, while these I'm looking at now are probably ten years old. In any case, the newer ones, have two bedrooms for $600.00, where as these here that are older, have two bedrooms for $700.00. I've been inside a two bedroom apartment from the newer ones, and the apartment is really nice, if not a wee bit "scrunched" up. The apartments that I'm looking at now, look a bit more spacious when it comes to the livingroom, it also has built in shelves. Now I'm not "looking" for an apartment now because I need to get more things in order before I do look, plus I"m not sure I'd even be able to afford the ones I'm looking at now OR if they'll still be there when I am in the market for them... I don't need two bedrooms. What I don't get is, why in the world are they $100.00 differece? They don't have that many differences to them. The ones I will probably end up getting is a ways farther down in another county, but it's like $400.00 a month for a studio, small but just the size I need. Even if I get a one bedroom instead of a studio it's like $500.00. Older apartments true... but.. I guess I'll have to weigh my options. I don't really have a point to this discussion, other then, why such a big difference?

I wish I could find a studio apartment here for $400. An older one may be better built and even better insulated so better for heating. It all sounds good and I will be putting out positive energy hoping you are able to save real fast and get into one. THen you can fix it up.

Well not necessarily. They definitely have thinner walls, the older apartments. I'm not sure about the heating and air etc either, but I'd guess that it might be pretty fair, though you have to worry about mold etc, and cockroaches yuck! Thank You. I plan to fully utilize mylot even still so that I can get my own place soon.

There are places nearby that are about the same square footage so I guess they don't take sq. footage into consideration here. It could be the location, it's like way back down a road. I doubt I'll get that place, I'm not worried about it right now, first things first, I've got to start working, saving, and then buying things I'll need.

Yeah. They charge outragious prices for rent these days. I think I would choose whatever is closest to work. It may save you money in the long run.

I will just have to see. There is one a bit farther down that's like $500.00 a month, teenie tiny places but newer, and well we'll just have to see. Ideally I'd like to move OUT of the county but I may go with the places I'm talking about here.

Apartment hunting can be tough. You really need to make sure you ask lots of questions and find out just WHY there is that price difference. Apartments can be so expensive too. I can't wait until we're done with apartment living and can buy a house!

I am really thinking I will just go for apartments that are about $416.00 a month. I've lived in an apartment as a child, but never had to pay for them. I'll be sure to ask a lot of questions when I do out looking.

It's convenient to live just right beside where you're working at. I have to take 3 rides when going to work and it takes me over an hour to get there. It'd be great if I can find a place there to live at. Either that or I can find work near where I live.

Well i doubt I'll get that place, it's just too expensive for what I'd be making. I would need to be able to actually do more then just work, come home and barely be able to feed myself because I'd have to pay for electric and water.... I'll find an apartment that has that included that is cheaper.

Oh, okay. I'm sure you'll find somewhere cheaper which is also a bit near your apartment. You don't really have to live right beside or just behind your workplace anyway.

For any apartments, the only difference that I could think of that would cause a difference in price, even if they are about the same, is the location. Even for apartments in the same area, the ones that located with the most convenience tend to be more expensive. I hope you get all your ducks in a row, and somehow get an apartment closer to work. Then you don't have to bike to far!

Well these apartments are only conveniently close to a grocery store, hair salon and a restaurant sooo.. I'm not sure about that. Though I guess you'd consider them close to a few other stores, they aren't close close. I do need to get my ducks in a row (and happily swimmin in the pond) before... but luckily I don't have to bike anymore.
