Have you been in New Yoerk before? Of course I am reading tipps in the internet and in books, but I had hoped that anyone could help me out with personal experiences and opinions on what is important, what is nice to see, where you should or shouldn't go or anything else you'd think of as important. Thanks a lot!

I lived in NJ just outside NY for almost a year and went into NY all the time. I think it is an exciting city …to visit.
For anyone visiting for the first time I would strongly recommend some type of a city tour. There are many kinds from a tour bus to boat tours. I usually take several tours whenever I visit a new city because that way you see a lot and have the highlights and history and interesting facts told to you. I would also read up on the sights to see and be somewhat informed of their history before I get there. Good luck to you..as I said, NY is exciting...to visit.
