Just got a call saying I had won a $40 gift card visa.
all I had to do is use my debt card and give them a dollar for 30 trail. Yeah right I dont remember doing a survey for the name they said and nope not giving out my debit card no to people I havent call or got in touch with myself.
What would you do?

Oh, I hope this is legit, I'd never give out any credit or debit card info just because someone said I won something...If it is legal, Congrats, that is totally awesome..

Personally I would be the same way as you. There are too many SCAMS out there that try to get your Credit Card information, etc. and then next thing you know you have BAD credit. Personally I would have told them straight out I am not interested and please do not call me again, and then go from there. The tatics that some of these places come up with.

Yeah, you're smart Lakota. No one should have to pay in order to receive a gift. And I'm with you, never give out debit card info over the phone to some company you've never dealt with before.

I would not give out your debit card. It is probably a scam. If it were really a $40 gift card visa they would not need your debit card or to give them a dollar. They would have sent you the gift card in the mail after asking if they had the correct address. Maybe you should talk to the police.

Good for you. I would hate to see you scammed. I bet there are others who are not so wise and do give out their debit card. I only give mine out when I actually buy something and of course when I enter my local bank on line.

I would do the same as you, of course. I am old enough to know better than that. Glad you did not get fooled either.

Very wise. There are way to many scammers out there just ready to take your ID and clean out your debit card.

You have surely done the right thing and I am sure all of us would have done the same thing. One thing I must repeat again that never disclose your personal and financial information to anyone whom you do not know personally, otherwise you will be immediately cheated.

I wonder what would they think of next. I hope nobody fell for that but I guess there's no telling about that as there are still stubborn people who never listen to good advice. Glad that you're smart not to fall for that one.

Oh goodness! I hope you didn't give then your card number, because this says "SCAM" all over it!! I have never taken a legit survey that asked for my card number. You'll probably end up in a lot of trouble financially if you did. I don't know what they are doing, but it doesn't sound good at all!!! Good luck though! Hope you actually win something legit soon!!! =) It's really sad how mean some people are!!!
