I enjoy going to my local library and checking out books. I went today and got some on writing and drawing. Then I got to thinking. Who out there has a local library? Do you actually use it? If not were do you get your books to read? I love my library and am vey thankful we have one. I can't always afford to buy a book so I really enjoy checking library books out. If I really like the book I can save and buy it off amazon. My library also has Internet and dvd's you can borrow for free! Libraries are so useful!

I agree totally with you, but in my home country we are not so far as in other ones, like as yours. In my case, I can borrow books and dvd's for free only in the library of the university but not from the public library. With us there are Language's Schools which have good libraries too and you can borrow books for a reasonable fee. :)

i love my local library. if they do not have a book they can find it from a different library for me...including having access to 2 university libraries. they have a great reading program for the kids in the summer. I still pick up books at thrift stores and yard sales, most i just rent from the library.

I go to the local library on a regular basis. Reading is one of my hobbies and I find useful books for school, too. Online libraries are a vast source of information and I use them a lot for documenting on the themes I'm interested in.

I do think that a library is very useful. However, I have to say that I haven't been to a library in quite a while. I used it quite a bit as an undergraduate student. That is, before I graduated last spring, but I haven't gone to a library since then. It's something that I probably should go to, at some point. It's certainly something that I would like to do. I just haven't done it yet.

Hi cupcakes_n_starrs, I too enjoy reading books, but in local library I don't get the books which I can read as all the books will be in local language, which is different from my language. I read something through online.

yes indeed the books are the key to a good education. try The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

I love to read, but I don't often go to the library. I typically buy books or receive books as gifts and I borrow from friends quite a bit too. I do love the library, and I go on occasion, but not regularly. It's a great place, and it's really great when I don't have any money! I don't have to give up reading. I do wish more people who said they can't afford books would just go to the library.

There are quite a lot of libraries in Hong Kong and I usually like to stay in the central library in causeway bay. It is a very big one and have 10 levels. I enjoy reading books related to medicine, technology, history and art there. I do not like owning books because I do not have enough space at home to store them.
