Righty so I've had TMJ for well over a year now, and it's really getting on my nerves! I spoke to my dentist who told me that I need to wear a mouth guard at night and that it is going to cost £204 (which is what? $340 or something?)I'm going to the dentist tomorrow to pick up the mouth guard. I was wondering if anyone else has also had TMJ and a mouthguard for it. Does it help? Because my TMJ seems to be getting worse and it's worrying...

I have TMJ and the Dentist told me the same thing so I got a second opinion. When I went to the next he suggested I get a night guard too and for my son! Well his solution was to get the night guards from walmart. The type for sports and so forth. He says it works almost just as well. It's a type of plastic that you bite into to so your teeth leave a little indention, then you place it in boiling water for 30 seconds to a minuite then take it out and let cool just enough to put in your mouth. This is where it forms to your unique bight and leave it in your mouth for two minutes then take out clean gently and let sit for at least thirty minutes. IT WORKED. Not only for my TMJ but for my sons bitting at night. It was awfull. Give it a try and see what you think.
