I would like to grow herbs on the balcony, however I have no idea how to do it? It is too late this year but next year I want to try and I would appreciate experiences and help. What herbs to use? Which are not so good to use? When to put them outside?... Any help is appreciated.

I also have no idea how to do it. I've always wanted to grow weeds on my backyard so that I can smoke them afterwards.

by the way, what a wonderful topic and how many beautiful thoughts come to mind when i think of herbs on the balcony. Herbs like lemon basil really smell great, if you like cats, catnip can really make your cats happy and bay leaves are really good on fish, soups and anything cajun. Walmart has starters in slats and seeds at the dollar stores. Chives will last a really long time and you can also dry, add fresh to a yummy dip with sour cream and also you might want to check out http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-use-herbs-and-spices-in-cooking/

Hello there! It is nice to put plants -esp herbs in your balcony. I don't know the weather condition in your place but I think herbs has no time frame? I mean, you can plant anytime you want to. I have a pot of herbal plant too. Its leaves can be mashed for coughs. I also have one that we mix in our rice to have an aroma flovor. It can also be boiled and drank for stomach pain. What herb are you planning to have in your balcony?
