Hi All, My brother has just presented me an old coin. It's very beautiful. But I don't know the worth of it. How can I do to valuate it? I'm going to post it to Internet to auction in order that I can ask its price. Please sharing your experience. Thanks!

I think you would actually need to ask a coin expert how much it is worth. It all depends on the condition it is in also.

Hi tkonlinevn! The value of a coin greatly depends on the rarity or scarcity of the coin itself. Maybe age of the coin is an indirect factor to it but still the rarity of it decides much of its value. First you have to identify what kind of coin do you have and check for its rarity. Also the conditions does matter in grading coins. Be sure to take care of it and rid it of marks that may devaluate it. Check on some sites in teh internet if such a coin is rare or of value.

I think the value of an old coin greatly depends on its manufacturing date but should also have a good quality to it.

Hi tkonlinevn :) Uhm, that's kinda hard. Maybe you can post some pictures of it. Do you have some markings on that coin that can tell where it came from?It can have some writings on it that is written in a language of a place where it came from. Then, you can type it on the internet to know what kind of language that is, and when and where it originated.
