Did you have a productive day?

Usually, in the evening I used to think what to do the next morning from the time I wake up. I would enumerate those things on my mind and schedule each of the tasks I wanted to finish.
But sadly, at the end of the day, I just find myself disappointed and with regret for not having those things accomplished.
It's so easy to make plans but it is very difficult to impose it. The result, I would end up less productive for the day because of not doing what I'm supposed to do.
How about you, dear mylotters? Can you make your day productive? Can you accomplish what you planned to do before the day ends? :)

Hi jdex: I consider myself a very organized person. When I start my day I usually make a list with the things I want to do for this day, putting some priorities on my list. I check it out and if I usually can't fullfill my list I reevaluate it because there must be a reason why I am not doing all the things I want. If that's the case I change the order of my priorities or design a strategy to do what I want and save some time. So I usually consider that my days are productive.

Hi,
Honestly, for me is very difficult to do what was planned earlier, sometimes it would be a very heavy burden, but a regret not apply to me, as far as I could fix it would be fine. Every day I just passed spontaneously without a plan for what I often experienced that a plan for me will not be a perfect day.
Nice day

I always do about the same thing. Yesterday was a joke because I was having freeze ups and problems with the computers. My base starts on here and then I branch out to other sites. I usually accomplish what I set out to each day. Barring any computer problems that is.

Try giving a number to each thing you want to do, if you have 10 things to do and you do 6 that means you did more then half. Don't be so hard on yourself, life is short and it meant to be enjoyed, even the little things. Blessings

I used to make plans and never do what I set to do. Then I bought a restaurant and since I had no idea how to run a restaurant or even how to cook, my sister who was a Chef then, came for a day and taught me everything I needed to know. She also told me that knowing in advance what I wanted to do was very important and that NO MATTER WHAT, I would always be ready for lunch. She was right, I was always ready, no matter what would happen.
To this day, when I set my mind to do something, when I make my list of things to do for the day, I always do it all .
The secret is knowing that you can do it all. Of course, make sure that whats on your list are things that can be done in the course of a day. Dont sabotage yourself by having so many things on your list that it would be impossible to do it all.
Good Luck! and dont worry if you cant do it all in one day, theres always tomorrow!

Hello sir ^^. This is my first post here in mylot. I believe not everyone of us can accomplish all his plans for just a day. In my case, it takes some time like 2 or 3 days or may be weeks just to accomplish a single plan. Making plans are easy but imposing it, is quite difficult sometimes. I do agree with you sir ^_^

I'm lucky, if it is a work day , I Know it will be productive. It is summer , my busy time. So I know from the moment I get to work til the time I go home , it will be busy.If it is a day off, I either have a beauty day or I can plan other things. On a off day if I just get caught up at MyLot , it was productive. I haven't planned things out like that in a very long time.Unless you count a massive shopping trip! When it comes to fun, then I Do plan. I had to. I needed to plan which buses to take. But having a huge To Do list? No , not really. I think if you try your best each day , and you do what is important , the day is productive.

do not be too hard on yourself. assess what got in the way, and if they are valid, and did not appear just killing the time, then be content. there are always reasons why planned results are not achieved. the next move would be to make corrections or corrective actions.

It depends on what i need to complete daily. Most of the time, my schedule remain the same since i am staying at home at this moment. If there is any special matter that i need to handle the next day, i will try to schedule and complete it within the set time. In that case, i will be hardly able to online, since i will not be home. So, you won't be seeing me posting in Mylot at that time. At least i feels i am quite productive since i managed to complete all the required matters within a day.

I have the same problem. It seems to me that every time I make plans for something, something goes wrong. But, things have to be done. I try and accomplish some of the things I have to do. Like, if there a 5 things that need to be done, I will tell myself, I will only do one of them. That way, once I start the one thing, I wind up completing at least 3 of the 5 thing. It seems to work for me.

hey actually I just had a really productive day and about to get off to bed Today was a wonderful day, though it started kinda late coz I overslept. Anyway after school I came back home, ate and then surfed the net. After my exercise today, I danced my heart out. I felt so good coz it had been a while since I last danced. I had been meaning to do some dancing for like forever now but had been putting off all this time. It felt so good and tiring too but I'm planning on doing it everyday from now on coz it's a good exercise too. So after that I went for a shower and had my dinner. I am back to the internet again but will be going off soon.
And yes, things don't always go as I planned it in my head. I have this small list of things that I need to do in a day but I hardly do half of them. Sad I know.

It certainly was not the best day but overall it was productive and I managed complete 95% of the things I planned. Yes many a times we plan a lot and fail to execute these plans and then realise that we should have worked a lot more and faster so that things could have gone on schedule. Also we should work with a calm mind rather than taking too much stress as being stressed does not help to help to get the work completed and even if completed there may be flaws. Also while planning do not plan too much and squeeze too many things in a days plan. Plan properly and all things will go fine. Plan also a little work extra just in case you end up early and can manage do some things extra..

I am not productive at all lol. Like you, I always listed out the things that I want to do every night before I sleep. However, after I wake up, I am always distracted by other funny stuff and ignore those things that I planned to do. At the end, I can only finish one thing on top of the list.
Well, it is normal to be like that. It is tired to urge yourself to work hard always. Sometimes you need to take a break. And to me, I work really hard when it it is needed. I finished doing lots of online jobs today and spent much time with my family playing mahjong together. I am satisfied with this and it helps me not to feel guilty when I am sometimes lazy!

Sometimes it can be really difficult to have a productive day. It takes a lot of self discipline to get yourself to really try to get things done rather than doing stuff that could be a lot more fun but not as productive! I know how you feel - for the last couple of days, I have had a massive to do list in my diary. And somehow each day when I get home from work I have not managed to achieve any of things that I was hoping to, so the list gets transferred to the next day and just continues to grow.. I'm hoping that I can catch up on those things I've been meaning to do this weekend! And of course also catch up on my mylotting.

Depends on what you would consider productive. I have done some laundry and some cleaning. But my goal for the day was to just sit and relax after a long week of training at my new job. I think I will be able to get a lot of the things done by the end of the day that I wanted to finish today. I just make sure I take time to just relax and enjoy my day off.

Hi jdex!
When it comes to work, I really do what I had planned the day before. I can't afford to have a backlog and my boss often follows up on me, if I have already did what he had asked me to do. But when it comes to school work, I tend to procrastinate.
I did have a productive day today though. I finished what my boss had asked me to do the day before. And in the afternoon, my groupmates/classmates from school came over to the office and we did our school project. Oh, that's another thing I cannot delay. A school project that involves working with group mates. ^^ So we finished it during the whole afternoon.

I find when I have a job I am more productive. The months I've been unemployed I've been lazy, however, now that I have a job I know I will be much more productive like I was in the past. It's kind of an odd thing to be quite honest, but yes, it'st rue.

Planning on what to do for the day is something that i never think about when i wake up. I plan the day before and i just put them on my calendar to ensure that i really do them. There are times that i don't get to follow my schedule but seem to get things done on my list. There are times when i miss out on something or suddenly i just felt lazy and didn't do a single thing at all.
That would make me feel like i've wasted my entire day.
