Is overpopulation a problem in your country? Do you think someday there will be no space on earth due to overpopulation?
Overpopulation may cause some serious problems like the increase of poverty and starvation. In my country, a lot of people die from starvation and a lot of children are malnourished. I want to contemplate on how to reduce the number of people who suffer from poverty and starvation. Because for me, this is heartbreaking dilemma.
I once stayed in a place where the less unfortunate live. I saw children who are malnourished and adults who are not in good health. Most of the time, people quarrel a lot because of money problems. Children were crying for they have empty stomachs. This is the sad truth in our society. Some are living in luxury while other are living in misery.
Do you think there should be a limit of the number of children a couple may have? If so, Abortion might be a big issue. This is very complicated.
I just hope that the number of generous people will increase more and more so that many poor will get help.

I live in the United States, so while we do have many homeless people, it is at least possible for them to get aid so that they will not be starving, and there are always places for them to go, but even so, it's still awful.
I think overpopulation is a problem everywhere. I can see why China would have started the One Child Policy, and it makes a lot of sense, in some ways.
But the problem is, in China, they prefer to have boys, not girls, so if people are aborting their girls, there is no longer a 50/50 balance in the genders. I hear that they already have many more males than females. So that's one problem.
Another problem is that there will not be enough young people to make money to help support old, retired people.
I'm not sure if the solution to the problem is to simply have less people, or to maximize our resources to accommodate them.
I have heard that the population will adjust itself naturally, as it does in nature, while less deer survive where there is less food. But that can take a long time and a lot of suffering.
I wish I knew. Maybe it's better for people to avoid having more than two children.
There are always going to be theories about our government withholding the cancer cure to help control the population. Then, they say diseases such as AIDs, or epidemics such as the bird and swine flus were created in labs to thin out the population.
If we had to choose between pressuring people to abort their babies and killing people who are already living with terminal illnesses, I'm not sure which I would choose.
Is there really not enough room on earth for all of us? Will thinning out the population do anything? I think it's about resources. We have been helping to teach people in other countries to farm and grow their own food, rather than give out handouts. Donations and charity aren't going to save us. Knowledge is our only savior.

This is something happening in India too.Girl babies are aborted on regular basis because according to society structure here its boys who provide financially to parents once they are too old and cant earn income.Thats why people prefer to have atlist one boy and one baby girl or only boy.Same story in India too even though gov is not any restriction like one child policy here.

Sensible people don't have more children than they can afford. If you can't feed yourself, then you won't be able to feed a child, let alone clothe and educate it. If you can only afford one child, then only have one. The growing trend in the West is to have only one child. This way the parents can provide everything the child needs. It costs between $200,000 $500,000 per child just to get them to adulthood. That's a lot of money. With more than one child that adds up.

I think they shouldn't legalize abortion regarding this issue. They should just think of something else as a solution for over-population. Here in my country, the problem also exists and it's causing underemployment. This should be taken care of soon or it might get worse.

Hi friend. Really a great topic. Yes population has already been increased as well and also being increased day by day. If it continuous, then we have to struggle due to no space in earth. Everything has its limit, Is there any exception for earth??? Even in my country also ( India ) has over population. India is a developing country. But still there are so many problems like poverty, uneducated, Being a jobless due to No vacancy like many things. To say simply, Rich people getting more richer and Poor people getting more poorer. Politicians are also not coming forward regarding this issues. In our country, people are requested by government as please don't give birth more than 2 children to a house.. But no one is listening that. Giving birth more than 3 or 4 children to a house and suffering from poverty. Everyone should think and realize and then act in any thing in the life to live a peaceful life.
