I decided to visit my friend in Antwerp this weekend. We already planned everything. I do not need to look for a place to stay since I can stay at her place, we are going to buy the food together and we are going to visit the beautiful places in Antwerp. And so I booked the tickets and now I am packing my things. Then she cancelled. She told me she has to work for the weekend but she also told me she will pay my tickets back for cancelling the trip the last minute. I am now having problems looking for a place to stay in Antwerp. I am thinking of staying in a hostel (I have never done this before)but unfortunately I cannot book online because I do not have a credit card:( I still want to go to Belgium because I have never been there. I do not want to stay at home and think **what if I did that?** I am scared but I hope when I arrive I will have a place to stay there.

I hope that you managed to get somewhere to stay in Antwerp for this weekend. I have stayed in dorms in youth hostels and backpacker hostels. When I was in my early twenties I visited Antwerp and found the old buildings looked really lovely. I liked riding on the tram from and back to the backpackers hostel that I stayed in. I used to travel alone when I was a young person and met many friendly travelers from other countries. I really liked visiting Belgium when I was in my early twenties. I went to Ostend, Bruges, Ghent, Brussels, Antwerp, Namur and Dinant. Antwerp is in the Flemish speaking area. The French speaking area is also worth visiting. It is a small country but I found it really delightful. At that time I lived in Kent in England and there was a ferry and a hover speed from Dover to Ostend. I liked going on trains in Belgium and found the fares cheap.

Hey Maxima. Luckily I found a place to stay in Antwerp but it took me a long time to find it (5am) since most of the hostels are fully-booked. But it was worth the trip. I am glad I pursued my trip because the city of Antwerp is worth visiting. You are right. It is lovely there and I think I will travel alone again until maybe I am 30 or 33:) Have a nice day Maxima.

Hi angel! Maybe you can ask your friend to book a hotel for you. Since she's the one cancelling, she might as well help you find a place to stay. I think that's the least she can do for you. And I agree that you decided to push through with going there. It's really hard to regret at the end when you will ask yourself "what if you did that?". The tickets are there, you're all set, your baggage is packed, most importantly your mind is set, all you have to do is find a place to stay. You should ask your friend for help. Good luck!
