How do you handle difficult times?

It can be very challenging to maintain a positive attitude and a measure of faith when we are in the midst of difficult times, as is happening with many people today. This is partly because we tend to think that if the universe loves us we will experience that love in the form of positive happenings in our life. However, we are like children, and the universe is our wise mother who knows what we need to thrive better than we do. Just as a young child does not benefit from getting everything he/she wants, we also benefit from times of difficulty. Do you agree?

I do agree with you.
We have to be careful, calm and cool to handle difficulties. We have to keep faith in our selves that we can overcome difficulties at all time and pray to God.So,He will help us to handle difficult times.

Hi dbangladehi, A good response, thank you. I think that we need to do everything that we can, than surrender it to a higher power, or however one conceives the spiritual side of life. Just letting go coupled with a good night's sleep can often give us a new perspective. Blessings.

@pose123: Life without difficulty is not challenging, and it is sure to be a boring one. Difficulty makes life more challenging, knowing that not everything will go our way and we need to change to cope with that, which eventually make us a better person. As they say, diamond cannot be polished without friction nor man cannot be better without challenge.
Nevertheless, I believe the best way to handle those difficult times is by keeping your head always. Anger is the most disastrous thing you can imagine in high-pressure situation because it makes you lose your wise judgement.

@pose123: Indeed, and frankly said I have seen many people regret what they have done or decide when their heads are not cool, and I have always believed that smart person learns from his mistakes, wise people learn from others' mistakes. Happy myLotting!

I also try to take difficult times as a lesson. Sometimes we need these times in our lives to sort of wake us up. I try to know things will get better and be strong. And after I have overcome them I try to forget about the pain and just keep the lesson.

@natnickeep: I believe you are stronger emotionally after going through all those pain, isn't it? I have always believed that it is the lesson that we need to take from these events, and not keep blaming God for testing us with such circumstances. Blaming God or other people will not sort things up - it will just get messier.

Hi Pose: First of all, we can't completely avoid difficult times so we have to grab ourselves to the possitive things that are with us: our family, values, our beliefs and don't give up. I usually pray, but I also talk to my friends and family to remember that I am not alone and off course I work to deal with these terrible situations that sometimes happend in our lives.

This is a very wise comment that you have made. I agree that we need to go through some times of difficulty in our lives in order to fully develop and grow. It's very difficult to handle when terrible things happen to us in our lives but looking back now, some good has come out of almost every hardship that I have had to go through in my life, and that almost makes the suffering and sadness that we have all had to endure worth it.

We do gain through experience. Do not repeat the mistake. Every one has to go through ups and downs in the course of the life time. We just have to move on. Keep a positive attitude, and trust that there is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Though we may not like it, I believe you are right. We benefit from the things we do not want to have to deal with, but the sooner we deal with them the better, and the easier it becomes for us to get past whatever is blocking us. It's better to accept what we cannot change, and change the things we can.

Whether we like it or not, I do think that you raise a good point. It can be difficult to always think positive, when it seems like a lot seems to be working against us. I guess we kind of expect things to go smoothly. At least, we might do so to some degree. Perhaps not all the time, but I think we might from time to time, to say the very least.

hi Pose123
You are right. We always want the best for our self and always want to live happily. The best way to walk through the difficult time is pray and look to those people who are in more difficult position then ours then we automatically come down when we come to know that there are so many people which are not as fortunate as we. At that time we should try to help them.

Hi meenalkadian, Thank you for commenting and you make a good point. Being grateful for what we do have is always the first step to recovery. Recognizing that there are others who can use our help, and actually reaching out to them is the right idea. Blessings.

Difficult times bring us lessons to learn. Yes it is painful and hard. But we need to be strong because life on earth is just full of sufferings that are meant to make us strong and not to put us down. Be brave. Just think that God doesn't give us problems that we can't handle. And problems should draw us near to God. Let's ask for His guidance that we may win over our struggles and become a better person.

Hi averygirl, Thank you for sharing your views. I too feel that after we have done all we can, it is best to surrender it to God, however you conceive that power to be. Let go and let God is a very good way to look at things, if one believes that there is more than this life. Blessings.

Yes, I personally think we must go thru difficult times to help make us a better person. This is a time that if you believe in God you learn to Trust him more and learn ways to help yourself so that the next time things like this happen you are better prepared. In the learning experiences in life I welcome these times and know I will be better off when I overcome them.

The thing for me is that I know that overreacting, getting upset, expressing negative emotions, and being hysterical etc. are not going to help a bad situation. Sure I will be honest about how I feel about the situation, but I will then calm down, and do the best I can do to deal with it.

When no possible support and guidance are on the way , I would prefer to seek the help of God Almighty in whom you can put quite a lot of trust and belief. I have achieved a certain amount of success in this way. It is quite an experience.

Hi piya, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and it's always good to have others who are there for you. I believe too that we must do everything that we can and than lay it aside, there is a reason for everything but it may be years before we are able to see it. Blessings.

Hi Pose123, I think you have a point there. I agree with you if we maintain a positive attitude we can manage to overcome hard times. We do need to think of those unfortunate which they aren't that strong to maintain that kind of attitude. Therefore, we must thank god that we still alive.

Yes of course its quite difficult to maintain a positive attitude when we are in the midst of difficult times like some negative situations.. I agree with you totally.. Positive thinking makes positive situations even if we are in negative situation. Universe is our wise mother and we are like her children is a good thought.. Keep rocking !
