Craigslist for advertising?

I sometimes use Craigslist (CL) for advertising. It does generate a lot of interest and sometimes revenue. The platform is pretty simple to use. Have you heard of the ghosting and flagging that occurs there? Flagging is said to happen mostly from competitors trying to get your ad off the site and ghosting is when CL will confirm your ad is placed but it never shows in the listing. It is an interesting combination to try to keep the spam and the scam down.

I've thought of using craigslist to adveritse my ref link, if that is what you mean. I've heard of flagging, but ghosting? That's not great for people who have to rely on craigslist for income.

No, but just like with anything, you have to read their guidelines and TOS. It does happen somewhat randomly but usually for a reason and if you are an avid user, you should be able to pinpoint the issue. They don't like over-posting, probably seems like spamming to their system, so that is a way of slowing you down. Not sure if you can post straight ref links. I have seen people do this but am not sure if this is a violation and something that gets flagged later on.

I've been trying to use craigslist too to sell jewelry off of my blog. There just trying to clean up the amount of spam happening on there site. But don't worry I"m sure one or two of your posts will still get thru and you'll receive some traffic from it. Or so that's what I'm hoping :)

I have heard of flagging but not of cloaking. Wow! I have to keep my eye on that.
