If we sign up for something online or we register for a certain website or we install something for our laptops, we have to agree with the terms of conditions first. Do you read all that long terms and conditions or you just go on and click that agree button?
I personally dont read that... I dont know but its too long to read and since there is a sure escape, I dont give much attection to it. I just click the agree button and then finish it out.
Do you think its important to read it? Do you read it yourself or like me, have the agree button as the escape??

Oh, no, I must confess, I never read those. I haven't had any problems as a result of that, either. As long as you don't post anything on sites that could deb used against you in any way, you shouldn't have problems with privacy, and if you're careful, there's not much that could happen. I don't think anyone can be expected to read them. It's not exactly theta right thing to do, but I don't think anyone can say that they read it all, word for word.

HI friend!
Yes, I do read those terms and condition because it's really important. I admit that I don't read the whole thing but I will highlight certain things so I know that I have been informed that.. People might just hit the button but for certain sites like internet banking you can't simply agree without get through the details. It is good to at least read some important points there.(^^)

Yes, I browse through them at least. I am married to a lawyer, so it's a habit to check everything even remotely legal for me by now, hehe!!

No, I never read the terms and conditions before pressing the 'Agree' button and I firmly believe that most of the other mylotters have also the same habit like me.

I hear you. Most people do not read the terms and conditions or do not read them all. Also, most people figure, they do change the terms form time to time. I myself, I read them but do not spend lots of time reading them. I pretty much skim through them.

See, I think thats how most people feel about them. Maybe these sites should have the terms and condition with a twist. Like, lets say, in stages. If you read them one stag at a time, and possible be rewarded like a few cents for each stage. Let me explain more of what I mean, like, after lets say stage one, there will a few questions about the stage or section that you have just read, and you answer them correctly, you will be awarded some kind of compensation, like maybe a few cents, a dollar, or maybe a discount on a product, or something. Or maybe just a bonus for answering correctly. I think that would get people to actually read the terms and conditions more. Now, even if you have not signed up yet, I think that would entice people to want to sign up also. Just something to think about.

With me it depends on what I am registering for. If it is something important like a banking or other site that involves money, then yes, I will read the TOS very carefully because I don't want to be working for nothing or for it to cost me money, but for free things where I don't earn or pay out money, then I will scan through them to get the general idea of what I am registering for. _Derek

goodmorning pbbbsra ,
I never used to bother reading it all even though I would check it off that I did, until I got burned for it one day. I purchased a trial size teeth whitening kit from a company online. I didn't read all the terms and conditions and I paid for it. It cost me $7.95 for the trial kit and I gave them my visa number to pay for it.
The next month I got my visa bill and found I had charges of $7.95 from 12 different US companies. I was shocked and didn't know what to do about it so I phoned my Visa company. They gave me a credit from all the charges and they went after the companies to get the money back. I was really happy that visa would help me so much.
The next month I got all these products in the mail and I got a lot more charges on my visa, $800 of charges. So I phoned visa again and they creditted me the money again, the whole $800 and they investagated deeply into it and in the end they got almost all of the money back, all except around $250 and so they charged me the $250 and I sent all the products back meanwhile to the companies with a letter from visa in each one.
In the end of all of it, it cost me $250 and no products and visa had a stop put to everything and it turned out that I signed a contract with them by ticking off the I read the terms and conditions, which gave them permission to send me and charge me for products from their sister companies.
Now I make sure to read everything, every link, there is on a site before I purchase anything or sign up to anything. It was a costly error on my part and it will never happen again.
Cheers and happy mylotting my friend
Talk to you soon, Chris

It depends on the site. Some I just skim over and some I don't even do that. The main thing I look for is the cost and once I find that I quit even skimming.

When it is something new and we are just at starting then at least for once we should read the terms and condition of a site.
When we are downloading for the first time then also it is good to read what we are agreeing towards .
When we once come to know what sort of terms a site gives for its company it is common in some ways to other sites also.
So then we can just agree and do the work, jus have a check up so we know what are they ,if we try reading each and every line of every site i think our time will be consumed there itself.

I don't read TOS because it's too long. When I have problem with the site I signup that's the only time I will read the TOS and FAQ's.lol

the terms and conditions are very important, and these must be studied thoroughly.
however, i don't do that.. i take it they were just blabber and saying predictable things and all.
i've read some (browse through is the right term), so i have some idea what it contains.
i guess they were intended to be written in legal jargon, lenghty statements, vague descriptions and in FINE PRINT just so nobody would dare read it. it's kinda protection for the provider in case some legal issues arise. they could always find a loophole in that.
still, i don't read it.

It probably is important. Butthe basic contract is usually very similar no matter what you sign up for. There is so much legal wording at the beginning, I dont know who has the patience to get though all of that garbage and read something that is really important. Only a law student could do it. And yet, if we automatically agree, we could run into a problem down the road.

I honestly do not read the terms and conditions of a certain site most of the time..
