I have seen on t.v on all these ne inventions of laptops I mean now they have a touch screen one that is nice, and then they have others that look very unique technology is really stepping up the game when it come to having ne inventions with computers, when you look at the old computers and how they worked then to now it has been a big difference in change, remember the old big screens that had so little writing, or remember the type writer, if you messed up onetime you had to start all over again it amazing what a human mind is capable of when you have alot of thoughts in one day. I have yet to figure out what the future will bring.

i just wonder why until now, only Touch Screen is the well-known new gatget inventions....
when will be the advent of the Projection?
What i mean is, instead of using CRT, LCD, Touch Screen LCD, or LED... why not using Projection?
meaning, you use your wall as your projection monitor from your gadgets...
projection screen capable of viewing bigger than 4 big window sizes or 2 big door sizes....

How convenient would projection be though? Imagine you are driving and you have your smart phone in one hand. Where you are going to project? You need the windshield clear to observe the road and all the other surfaces are either not flat or clogged with buttons. Then there is also the lack of privacy. Let us say you are the mall and you texting a friend. Would you really want to project your conversation onto the floor, or on the wall where every stranger walking by can see in glorious detail? Having a screen offers adaptable privacy. Finally, there is the fact of space. It's true that a project would give a screen the size of doors or windows, but you would need a lot of clear wall space for that. This is going to be a problem for people who live in apartments. You would also strain your neck having to work with a screen that big for long periods of time.
Projection is just to impractical for a lot of situations. :)

Its amazing that just 20 years ago, laptops were barely even portable, but now, my mobile phone has more power than my first full sized pc, and probably at least another 10 features that my first PC couldnt do (touch screen, camera, motion sensor etc).
I think its pretty impossible to predict what the future will hold, and certainly its alomst impossible to over estimate the power of future technology. In the 50s people laughed when some said that every household would have a computer but no one would laugh now!
I also think its great that technology is so affordable these days. A sturdy, portable netbook can be purchased for about $200 in some places new. That is just amazing!

@la_chique Isn't it quite possible to overestimate the power of future technology? In the 60's many thought we would have flying cars and colonies on mars by 2000. Here we are in 2011 and we are still in the shuttle stage. It can work both ways: future technology can be overestimated and underestimated. :)
