Why People have to make False Rumors?

Hi letran knight: I think, most of the time people create false rumours because they feel jealous about the success of this person so their reaction is attack to affect this person so they can feel happy again. It's just disgusting to attack someone thsi way. If you don't like someone don't talk to him/her or ignore it, or at least be polite but doing such nasty thing is not ok. ALVARO

Hi! I think it's human nature. Like, I have an aunt and she's just so exaggerated when she's telling stories. My mom would even say if she says something, "I don't know if it's true. We know her, a lizard becomes an alligator". It seems people find more pleasure if they make the story "more" exciting by adding some "fun" details in it. Also, because we can't remember things so perfectly so sometimes we can't tell the story perfectly and we tend to add in some details. But I think this is something all of us should be careful about. Just us we don't want our reputation ruined, so do others. So, if we don't want something to happen to us, let's not do it to others as well. Happy day!

My mother is a great one at starting rumours which are very often not even true! The reason she does this is that she presumes things about people and professes to know them, what they are thinking and what they are about to do! I hate it because; just like the tabloids she is so often wrong!

Well you gave yourself an answer for the showbiz case. It's all about getting attention and raising tabloid sales. In personal life however there may be various cases. Sometimes people create false rumors in order to turn other people hostile towards a person. Some people are just born this way - they make up things and they like to listen what others say, modify it and forward to others. It all depends on personality, some people are very evil and treacherous.

People spread such rumors because they wish to lower the image of celebrities and others who have popularity or a good reputation.In the two instances you are giving,the rumors are being spread to create sensationalism.This is how tabloids sell.They publish unconfirmed reports or that which is sensational.These sensational reports arouse the curiosity of the readers who lap them up.This increases circulation.So, it is a question of making good by besmirching the reputation of a celebrity.

When it's someone who is jealous one is doing it because they want to destroy their enemies' reputation, now in showbiz they want to sell so good news seems to not make money so these magazines are making up lies. There are many that are being sued, it seems.

I don't really know why people do that. I guess they just like to start trouble or put others down to make themselves feel better.

Controversy creates cash. That really is all that there is to it. There are many people who feel the need to just stir everyone up by posting any type of humor about the famous out there. Rumors that can be anything from somewhat based off of reality but completely blown out of proportion, to complete and utter lies. That is just one of those insane things where people just really enjoy making up the most absurd and often times hurtful things, to get a rise out of people. More particularly, there are just people who really enjoy making others squirm. They enjoy the attention that a good controversy creates. Often times, if the rumor is strong enough, it is really hard to get out of. If you remain silent, there are going to be people who will still believe it. However if you protest it, there are going to be people who think that you might have something to hide. It is just one vicious cycle and in the end, its all about attention and notice.

Sometimes it is really interesting to listen to rumors. Specially those that are showbiz related and all about celebrities. But if it is a friend who is making rumors or saying bad things to another friend, I really don't like that and I'm not into it.

I'm not a psychology major or a mind reader but I think the avenue of rumors is a way of people of getting even, especially against people who are rising in prominence and influence. Nothing makes a rumor as a deadly weapon when the credibility and the character of the person involves is attacked or damaged. Celebrities and public people (like the players of Azkals)are very prone to this since they are always covered by the media and always in the limelight. People who wish them ill often resorts to rumors and gossips since they cannot compete with these people in the same fields. Besides, some people want them to be miserable so that the public sees these figures as still people - they are still relatable and one of the us in a sense. Rumors are often the past time of the idle and yes, I think that soemtimes listening to rumors can be interesting at times but not to the point of addiction and practice.

all that i can say is i never trust my eyes, all that i can see is not, what i see is not.... optical illusions on the run.... even if you're so sure that you see it... as... to see is to believe, still... eyes can't be trusted... rumors i think exists to the people who doesn't have any job or work to do, like me? i don't have any time to those rumors because i am busy replying here hehehe... the moment you reply, there's another response to the other link to reply with....

In my case i don't talk false rumors about somebody. I just don't like making stories. It isn't good at all. hehehe I feel bad about the issue with azkals, I hope it isn't true. For I saw the girl being interviewed and she sounds like "being molested". Or maybe she's so deceiving! Happy mylotting...

Hello there! Rumors is quite "common" here in our country. It is not good because always rumors have additional information and when passed on, you don't know if there is any truth to it. In my case, I don't rumor or gossip about any person. And when I hear something, I don't believe right away. I hope that this will stop. I know that it is not common in other nationalities

It depends on the situation there are things that are misinterpreted by people and could get big and messy.And there are people that are trying to benefit a situation and make things worst and got out of it.But there are good rumors also in which people are praying for it to be true and treated it as blessing that could give them happiness.Whenever I heard rumors good or bad I try to weigh things and think beyond the situation.

dear LK, In showbiz it is given why people made false rumors and even those celebrity ,they also give false information about themselves. Even in media where they always claim to say that "they're always fair" NONSENSE! (but I know who I can trust to when it comes to broadcasting) For individual people,we assume and we never knew if we conclude it right or wrong. But spreading rumors esp wrong one it regards personal behavior and attitude then. People who don't like rumors are likely don't spread rumors either, so,people who believes and loves rumors are the one's gossipers and live with such behavior. have a great weekend dear brother jaiho®

hi, for me i think this days that rumors and gossip is part of the life of people now,maybe because they only got those rumors to another people who spread false rumors and eventually change the story,i hate those people who always create false rumors and even to those people who love to do gossip.
