My dear friends in my previous discussion I shared my feeling that I faced lots of difficulties to know about men and women friends by username.
Now think if mylot change its rule and tell us your original profile photo is must. Then what will you do you can upload your original photo or leave the mylot or feel upset . I observed many sites tell us upload your original photo.
Some days before I read discussion here in mylot what should change or any new suggestion in mylot so I saying my suggestion and tell me are you ready to accept this new suggestion or rules in mylot or disagree with me. Welcome in my discussion..

Hi my sweet dear friend!
Assuming you are assuming I don't think a site can force anyone to do so and really do not feel that everyone would actually use the correct personal picture.
As for me no, I would not be forced to do so, not because I am hiding of any sort but my concern is always identity theft. I have seen some take others pictures and use them and I once had an issue with my ex-husband using my modeling pictures on the internet. For this reason, I had a really bad legal issue as the pictures were not to be used this way. They were not bad pictures but they had copy write and I will not go through this again.

Yes my dear friend I am assuming or this is my imagination. Last week I started my 4 to 5 discussions only on imagination like Mylot picnic, change rules in mylot, my husband has a girl friend but I and some mylotter was also laughing and enjoyed on my imagination. Like on mylotte tell me ohh when I read the heading my husband has a girl friend I shocked but when I read the contents then I say ohh no what a funny. Do you like friend my imagination.
You are right mylot cannot force to upload real photo and you said this sad event so you never upload your original photo in any social networking site. Really this is true some people use our original for earning money also. Thanks for sharing your view.

Other sites have tried this but, since there's no way of verifying that the photo is really you, people just work around it by uploading a pic of their favourite celebrity or some random person they found online. It wouldn't be possible to enforce such a rule (though my photo is actually me).

Sir please if possible for you tell me the reason my 2 points are decreased 93 to 91 due to this discussion or any other reason. Why day by day my point is decreased. Yes you are right sir nobody can enforce but I am just asking if mylot implement the rule then what will happen because this site is paying the money so they have the power to know about their user details. Thanks for response.

I have no idea for your points - I very rarely rate negative (and never yours, I know that for sure!). The internal workings of MyLot are beyond my simple comprehension!
MyLot could ask that we use photos but there's no way of knowing if they're real or not - unless they asked for passport proof or something. And that would be a bit extreme!

why are you so keen to know what everyone looks like?

I was (some I still am) member in many online games sites. Not only games, professional forums too.
There was is and will be a trend to be made meetings of members.
Why?
Soon after meeting is over, they plan next one.

And in that site forum those who were not at the meeting ask for pics and videos from the meeting and they get it posted there or in pics sharing sites.
Why?
Hold on: If you are to talk with a good old friend or a relative and options are classic phone call or video-sound transmission tru a messenger (YM, Skype), which one you'll choose and ... Why?

I had a real pic on my profile time a go, here on mylot and I can re-upload it anytime, if required.
I was member in many sites where pic / real name and address / etc. were a must.
there are millions of people's pics on the net and mine never could been used to be stamped into false id cards - angle of making pic, head position, details which are incompatible with official papers.
Else, what one can do with my pic? Use it to make a photoshop collage with me and some who-res? Lol, that would raise my popularity, not harm me ..
Some small precaution measures and all would be just fine.

yes. I also faced some minor problems like not being able to decide the age of the person, gender of the person (male or female) etc. But people here are good. they accept and say ok. yes. yesterday I called a sister as brother and she said ok.
If mylot brings rule we have to accept it. But if u insist on real photo then number of people may come down. for u no problem - u have already put ur photo. good day.

I have been absent from Mylot for about a week since I had a travel lately. Is it true that Mylot has changed the rule and we must upload our real photos? It is not a problem for me. Now the photo is from my son, so I like it. But if Mylot really needs us to upload our real photos. I will change it anyway.
I love China

dear sis,
Yah,one site has this kind of rules where members must upload their own photos.
If mylot will implement this kind of policy well, there is no problem with me since I am uploading and using my own photo anyway.
I am sure if other mylotters will like it,whether they stay or leave
have a great weekend dear

Ohhh dear sis thanks to support me but really here all members are good so uploading real photo is not wrong. But may be some persons telling their own experience they faced some problem previous so they not upload their real photo. We all are like family members so I think no one can try to misuse with our photo thanks for sharing your view.
For weekend same to you

For me, this would not make any difference because I do choose to use a picture of myself as my profile photo. I started doing this a long time ago because of the fact that I'm active on many scrapbooking sites and since I'm uploading pages with images of my children and family on them on a regular basis, there is nothing about putting on a picture of myself that bothers me.
However, I can also see why other people don't want to have any pictures of themselves online.

by the way, how are you gonna make sure that the photo that might be uploaded was the photo of the user, not any other person you won't possibly knew?
well, as for me, i sometimes upload my own photo and sometimes used some celeb photo when i find it cute, cool or whatever.
so i guess my answer is, there shouldn't be a rule that makes a member upload his/her own photo for profile compulsory.

You are absolutely right friend might be the upload photo is not the user photo but I trust on all mylotter they never cheat with mylot. Because this is not only social site but also like a home or house where we gathered and share our problems, happiness, sorrows and other people gives us suggestion on our problems and happy with our happiness. So here everyone should trust on each other.

Hello Surekha,
I will be least interested to register on that site which has the copulssory rule to upload my photo in profile.I know some sites which ask to upload your photo but thats not compulsory but you get a bonus for that.
I won't accept it as we all know there are risks when you make your pic public on net.

in my own opinion i don't think that is is actually necessary to upload your own photo. what i could suggest is that they can put "gender" under profile, that way you will know if it is man or woman. and again photos are not necessary what matters most is you are giving good comments to mylotters now matter if your a man, woman, gay, bi, lesbian or whatever, what matters is the quality of the comments you are giving. not that i am contradicting you, just my thought

yes everyone should be honest and upload their photos ,however i would say online is not a safe place for uploading our photos and i think tat is the reason for no any condition on any site,it is left to our choice.

surekharathi you are very sweet and v ery gentle, a lovely person but in the online world there are those who are the opposite so I do not want to share my photo to all on the internet to see. as it is now days in this world we have very little privacy once on the net but having my photo shown to the wrong kinds of people makes me very uncomfortable so I do not want this made as a rule here at all. also I have no camera, I am very limited to funds as everyone here in the US is not well to do. I am a senior citizen and have lots of time but not enough money for an expensive cameras. so no no no
i do not want mandatory photos of me floating around on the huge net to be seen by bd people.

I don;t think it's a big problem. I use my real picture here on MyLot and most of the other sites I use. I also have a non photo avatar that I use. I don't think it should be mandatory. Some people are not comfortable using their real picture, it's a privacy issue. They have that right. If you choose to use your picture, thats fine. I like every one of my MyLot friends, whatever picture they have. Also, I have become familiar with some of their little avatars. So I always know who it is.

I think that It makes no difference whether all mylotters are required to provide their original profile photo here on mylot or not. Here we are all engaged in exchange of ideas and we are at most friends in spirit,so it has nothing to do with mylotters' gender, image, age, etc. It is right for mylot to suit oneself in this respect.

Well I think that would be okay since I am using my real photo. But I don't know with the other members though. I think some people would prefer to have their identity private and well we must also consider their feelings about this. Anyway, I think your idea is also helpful. The problem lies on how to implement it.

i wouldn't object to uploading a photo of myself, i just don't have many.
though i am not sure if this is really the solution to the problem that you are experiencing.
i really wouldn't mind if, by mistake, you assumed i was a different gender to that which i am.
a lot of discussions on mylot are gender neutral anyway, and quite often it just doesn't matter.
