So I am having a dinner party at my home on Monday night - it is going to be my boyfriend and I, my roommate and her boyfriend, and a couple of friends. I have been charged with the task of making the starter! I have been bouncing a couple of ideas around but have now decided on making ricotta gnocci with burnt sage butter sauce - sounds delicious and it looks like it won't be all that hard to do! Do you ever have dinner parties like this with your friends? What kind of things do you like cooking? :)

Many years ago I had a dinner party with a group of people and everyone was going to make a vegetarian dish. I made a lentil loaf with picant sauce as a starter. It is one of the only times I have made this dish, but it was very nice. I often have meals or lunches with family when we all provide a plate. Often we have lots of salads - like a bean salad, garden salad and other dishes like soups and curries.

Funny you should say this - I actually had a dinner party with some vegetarian friends the other day as well. We had a delicious roast veg and soya salad, it was great.

I really don't know what that tastes like, but if it is the kind of food that your friends will like then I say go for it. I do like to have get togethers with friends, but we usually do a lot of that in the summer and I like doing cookouts. We do a lot of picnic type foods.

Oh yes, I also love doing cookouts, and picnic food is so yum - its great to have foods that you can just pick up and eat with your fingers, and of course a huge variety of food like a picnic is just the best thing!

Gnocci sounds italian to me, and makes me think of goolash but I know that I'm completely off my marker they're. Gnocci is like a pasta right? It sounds like it might be good, but not the kind of food I really like.
We don't have dinner parties, but when we hang out it's usually one of my friends who cooks for us and we go to her house, watch a movie, play on the wii, and stuff like that.
Another group of friends, we go out to eat, watch a movie, play MTG.

Yes, gnocci is kind of like a pasta, but its made out of potatoes, so really its like little potato dumplings! Its very tasty but also quite stodgy and extremely filling!

Haha I love cooking and EATING! But you know what, you can also enjoy these kind of dinner parties then - maybe you can be the one to provide the drinks or something so that you don't have to cook but can still enjoy the dinner party and contribute in some way! happy eating..

I had dinner with friends.
situation is really very nice when we're with friends.
I think it is good for you to cook something for dinner.
Find what you love and what it is facing forwards in cooking.
I am from Bulgaria and here we make dinner salad tomato cucumber cheese is one of the dishes.
Sometimes I make meatballs kebacheta or sometimes steak.
And sometimes even go out to a restaurant or just somewhere where we can have fun.
Have a nice day!
And lots of fun.
