I think that FACEBOOK is one of the baddest ideas of this new millenium...

I don't have a facebook page. I do not want people to know my business. I understand that you can set it so only people you want can see it but how can you possibly know who can access your information. There have been incidents where people would see if people were going to be home and then rob them when they left. I mean really? Most cases, it was people that knew the person!!! ALso, facebook accounts are easily hackable as many celebrities have umm not so happily demonstrated lol..Anyway, to each their own I know people love being social and having friends but for me I love my privacy. Any thoughts?

I respect your opinion. My mum is also like that. She would rather have privacy than being on public. I think the contrary. This differs in many persons. Some persons wouldn't bother to make a Facebook acount, some are really interested to join. Thats why we live in diverse society.

There are a lot of ways to get informed, gain knowledge and experience, exchange and share ideas, help others, interact with friends and family. Mylot for one is an ideal way to accomplish these goals. I can be with distant friends and family through skype. I joined facebook for a few days, then closed my account. This is my personal opinion to which I am entitled. I am not going to say much because I know of some who are addicted to this site, that's their choice, too.

And I have't a Facebook page mainly because this platform is blocked in China. But I use the similar tool of Skype and LinkedIn ,MSN etc.Every body has self private information which need to be protected,so I rather understand your opinion regarding the Facebook, what i want to say is that no matter you like or dislike this type of communication tool, you have your own option and freedom ,just make yourself comfortable! Come on! Do the things you love to do,make life much more comfortable for you, others would love to respect your privacy,I believe.

as in any tool, it can be used for and against a person. however, gains of having and using facebook outweighs any disadvantages it brings. out of the hundreds of millions users, few have reported privacy incursions. but these unfortunate incidents should not stop the continued connection and communication of people separated by distance. as a tool, facebook is an option. like a chopstick, the chinese use it. but many of us don't.

I sometimes do think that way but I think that facebook is more of a blessing than a bad idea. I've learned to use the Privacy settings of course! it is hard to let strangers come into your life and in that case online life/world. Facebook has helped a lot of people as we all know from other's experiences and our own experiences using it. I found my old friends there and distant relatives.

Facebook really is something that can be used for a lot of abuses. And putting it in the hand of some people, is like putting a lethal weapon in their hands. A weapon that has an equal change of hurting both of themselves and other people. For every person who uses it in a responsible manner, there are many others who will use it for their own malicious purposes. So yeah, this is the case of technology being used in a malicious manner. I think the real biggest problem that I have with Facebook as people take it too seriously. There are people who cannot figure out the difference between Facebook and the real world. I really wish I was joking, but that was true. There are so many friendships, relationships, and indeed marriages that have utterly ruined due to Facebook, so that has to be a huge black mark against it.

Since the making of Facebook, a world of internet users have inquisitively watched the evolution of this social networking empire. Some took to the stylish internet fad right from the start. What an outstanding way to keep in contact with friends and family across the globe. Others were not so cozy with the idea of giving out their personal information online. After while, numerous internet users that may not have been primitively interested in Facebook, joined just to stay in touch with family and friends already using the site.

I guess Facebook is a blessing for me than a bad idea. I know that there are some people who don't know how to use it properly but doesn't make any sense if you know how to use it. There are privacy settings you can use to protect yourself. Don't put notes on your status always and don't share important facts about yourself also. All things has its own advantage and disadvantage, it's us who will take the precautionary measure to protect our self.
