The Almighty Dollar $$$

I was lucky in my career choice and I enjoyed my job and got paid well. So it's hard for me to answer the question I'm going to ask you. What job would you take: 1) A job that you loved but did not pay well? 2) A job you hated going to but paid you very well? Would you give up the almighty dollar for a lower paying job that you were much happier with?

I Have picked a job I'm happier with than more money. The thing I could never understand is working a job you hate for the rest of your life. I guess being as stubborn as I am and willing to just not do Anything , I could never get it! I always wanted to be happy, period. I was lucky to find a job I love. My pay has been cut since I started but I am still there. My dream is to find another job and work both. But alas soon will have to find another better paying job . But will it e something I can do but Hate to do? No way! It will have to be something I Like to do. Life is way too short to get stuck doing something you hate. I can see for a few months , to pay a bill or two , but a lifetime , no!

Wait a minute! Are you saying going for a better job , a career that you liked was going for the money? I think not! You said you got both. Think about it , there are more jobs that you could have gone for that paid more . You followed your bliss and that wasn't All about the money! Now I'm P!ssed at those stupid former co- workers . How dare they think you were doing something wrong?!

Lol. you are funny...I ended up getting a good job that I loved with good pay, but when I was going to college all I was looking at was the dollar. It was just...I don't know...luck?...God?...both?...that I got a job that I loved. If things had turned out different maybe I would have been working a job that I hated. I new my career choice (engineering) was a lucrative profession but did not know I would get a job that I loved. I got a job as a project manager for the City I was working for while on the end of a shovel. It was challenging but fun. I enjoyed every minute of it. And you are correct in saying that YOU have worth. All have worth, it's just a matter sometimes of finding your nitch in life, which usually involves doing something that you have a passion for.

Hi sarahrufhbeth...I remember when I was working my way through college and was also married with a newborn baby. I had dreams of giving them everything that I could. And I new that even if I hated my job (that had a good salary) I would do it to support my family in the best way that I could. When I was working my way through college on the end of a shovel I new that this is not what I wanted. I wanted better and I would work whatever I had to do to get there. I remember guys that I had worked with being mad at me when I succeeded and was promoted because of my education. Maybe I was wrong in going for the dollar and maybe they were right staying where they were. I don't know. I only know that there was something in me reaching for that *Almighty Dollar". Like I said though, I was lucky and achieved both. I think there is a change of heart and mind when you are doing it for your family. If I had been single maybe I would have thought different. Who know's...

Hands down I'd take the job I loved over the job paying good money!!! Money does NOT bring us happiness NO matter what we have been brainwashed to believe!!! Money might make our life a little easier, but easy does NOT always equate to happiness!!! So, I'd prefer to a job I love with low pay over a job I hate with good pay!!!

Well LadyMarissa...I agree money does not always equate to happiness however, If you don't go for the gold sometimes...you won't know. Maybe just maybe you can beat the odds and go for the gusto and achieve both...

hi dennis, i think the answer is very obvious. if you put your shoes on those questions, you will choose that which will make you happy. but isnt it ironic, you are happy and yet you dont have those almighty dollars? now am thinking hard.. guess it will depend which you love best.. happiness or dollars. i still bet on the first one. have a great day. ann

Hmmm...I know I love happiness the best, but do I really. If the salary is real good I know that I would probably take a job that I was not happy in just to better myself. So maybe I would be fooling myself if I say I want happiness the most. Like I said though, I was lucky and had both. God blessed me.

If the Job i love is paying enough for mydaily expences, then i will choose the Job i love, And if and unless its not completing my expences then i will chosse the 2nd one, but just for the time, i will search for a better Job,which will be better in both ways

Yes donharis, I see what you are saying. You would base everything on your needs. Yes...that is a practical way to do it. I guess being an American, I always wanted to strive for something better. But in doing so I would have risked happiness. I guess there is a fine line there somewhere that you either cross or don't.
