What do you promote on safelist mailers

Okay so I have become a member of a few safelist mailers online. Well actually about 10 now, in hopes of promoting something. I have come to one problem.
I see the safelist kind of the same as traffic exchanges. You are lucky to get a opt-in, referral, or lead about maybe every 1,000 - 2,000 visitors if your lucky. In some cases you still end up getting none.
So I thought I would ask all the good people of the mylot community. If you use safelist... what do you promote? What have you had success in promoting?
If your unsure what a safelist is. Really it is just a site where you opt-in to receive mails from other members of the site. For each mail you read and visit their site with the link, you gain mailing credits. You save up your credits and then you can send out your own mailing to all the other members.
Oh yeah, I am not asking anyone to give up their entire plan or strategy. I just would like to know... have you had any success with these types of programs?

I've been heavily promoting JSS-Tripler recently in the safelist sites I joined. However, instead of directing the readers to the site of JustbeenPaid, I put my blog's link which shows my payment proofs from the site or a blog post I made about how the program works instead. That works better for me. And one good thing about doing that is increased traffic for my blog.

I'm new to use safemail list. I use Herculist, EuropeanSafeList to promote my links, but have found no results yet.
