The 4th I have an appointment to take my son school shopping at Kohl's Department store. There is a program in our local area that provides vouchers to help low income families get clothes and school supplies for their kids. Our program is called Dress A Child. The voucher amount varies by how much is donated to the program as far as money goes. This kind of program helps so much, but my best friend says that where she lives in Tennessee that there isn't help like this. Do you have any programs that help out with school supplies or new clothes for school where you live?

I live in Missouri and here there is a little thing called FAFSA that is financial aid for those who really need it. I myself am using it so i can attend college in a couple of weeks, helping me not to worry about money or my schooling. I hope you look into this for yourself.

Yes I will be hopefully graduating soon from college. I have had the financial aid, but they called me Friday. Now I am worried. I hope that they were just calling about a graduation fee or something small.

I've heard of there being vouchers for clothes for Kohl's and Salvation Army but I don't know any program names or any qualifications for such programs. That's good that you are able to take advantage of such a program.

I have not encountered such programs here in Illinois and or at least I never heard of it. I do know they hold charity areas where parents can pick up supplies for which are very limited here.
This is nice to hear that your area offers this as school supplies and school clothing are quite expensive.

I don't know your situation. However, I believe everyone has hard times. I don't think it's society's responsibility to bail people out. We've helped our share of people to include people living on the streets, schools, charities and family members. I want to know who is going to help us. My guess is no one. I'm glad they have programs like this. I'm curious how they decide who gets the help and how much help do they get. Even well to do families could use this help at times. Are they ever a lotted any money? My guess is no again. How fair is that? In my opinion, it's not fair at all. Best Wishes!
