Money Flies

It's so hard to earn money, yet money flies so fast away from us that sometimes, we're just surprised that we don't have money anymore. I noticed that one problem also is how people spend their money. When they got money, it's like they have money that will not run out ever. They spend and spend, and sooner or later, just realize they should have done better in holding and spending money.
What about you guys? Did you also notice how fast money flies away? Money is everywhere, but why can't we have enough?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

The way I always see it is hard to come but easy to go. Yes money is already gone before we have a chance to really feel it. When we are earning and see the dollars escalating it is such a good thrill. Then we get it and bills are mounted so not much to see after.

I can certainly understand how you feel. My husband and I finished our studies, and money is extremely tight. It seems like we go through money like nothing, just because of rent, bills, food, and so many other things. We really try not to go through money faster than we need to, but it's difficult. We try to save money whenever we can, but that's also difficult to do.

Spending money has a simple logic as far as I'm concerned. When I have little money I spend little. I pay first my bills and then food is restricted to how much money I have. When I have more money I go out to spend the extra money I have. Shopping is good for the mental health especially for women! It's so great to buy something for herself! But many people do not think first if they can afford to do this.

because I'm a student I have my allowance weekly, so what I do is save a little each day then when the month end whatever I saved I use that to buy something. I need to do that because I know that my parents don't have extra money to buy me things, what my father earned is just enough for monthly expenses and maybe save some for emergencies.

Hi Bannybanzie!
Yeah, money flies by so fast. One day it's your payday, the next day you're waiting again for the next payday. And yeah, there are people who spend as if there's no tomorrow. I am sometimes like that. I consider it celebrating and treating myself with something good for something good I've done or achieved. It's not everyday because I know that I will regret it if I spend all my money all at once. And I know the importance of saving! People should know that. Even a peso a day will help us big in the future.
We can't have enough money because people are greedy. Well, I think that's mostly true with rich people who don't stop "enriching" themselves. But we can't have enough money because goods, services and products are constantly getting expensive and expensive as the days go by. And we have to pay for almost everything! As they say, there's no such thing as free lunch.

You bet it does. I recently got a raise and I almost don't feel the difference. I didn't change my lifestyle and started spending more than I usually do so I don't know maybe it's because the prices of everything have also gone up.

I do agree with you. Money does fly most especially if you do not spend it wisely. Life is so hard these days. Money is hard to find so it is really important to make a budget and decide which things we need and things we can do without. If we do this, then we can save money and use it for future and more important things.

Its more difficult to earn than spend. We as adults realise this but children and others in the family aren't aware of this.We ought to spend on our needs and not spend more than is required.I say this as we might require money for future use.Money always disappears faster than we get it.I think we have to keep a tight leash on expenditure so that money that is hard earned is with us when we require it the most.

Yes i agree with you. money flies so fast. It always happen to me. I even swore that I'll wisely spend my money in the future but just the same, I can't control it. Maybe some people can control the urge of spending unwisely.

you're right. I always think about that too, why is that money always flies so fast yet it is so hard to earn? Maybe we could just improve our way of living, like never spend any thing more than what we earn. Whenever we're out of money, that should be our lesson and not to spend too much again.

Even though I get an extra on my salary from all of the side lines that I'm doing, my first hand experience is that the more I earn money, the more bills to pay or needs in the house are coming into account. I really should review my financial status and check why this is happening.
I'm not a compulsive spender and I have priorities on where I should spend the money that I'm earning. Usually, I would put fist on my list of priorities the bills that needed to be paid, then the groceries in the house and then our spending allowance for the next 2 weeks until my payout. It would be great if I can save but the extra money that I earn just goes to that extra bill that needs to be paid or to the repairs on my car or things that needed in the house.

Ya, I sure do notice this. When I am done paying all my bills, about mid month, I only have about $400 left if I am lucky. I am retired so I do have afew extras but not many. It really means so much to make alittle here and in my articles. And not to say it is very much but alittle bit extra.

That is true, we really need to put on a budget in order to save money and know what are the things we necessarily need, not want. But if you have the money that you think will last for a month or so, well I guess spending it is not a problem as long as you do have a list of what to buy. Lucky for some people who were born with a silver spoon.

Money is far easier to spend than to earn, that is a given. In economics there is a basic topic of limited supply and unlimited wants, we always strive to get more, have more and use more without spending more which is not always possible. My definition of someone who is well to do is someone who is able to save! I myself save 20% of my paycheck towards a goal I have of owning a house so the more I earn the more I save.
Good luck earning!

I see how money can be gone fast if not taken properly. Yeah some people are addicted to shopping that's why they are shopaholics or spendaholics. They need to learn how to save as well as spending wisely. I notice how money flies fast if you don't take care and save money and that it is spent on useless stuff. We can't have enough either we are not rich or financially independent.

people have to prioritize their money just like with their time. If you are buying an iced mocha latte at $3.50 a pop every day from starbucks and then trying to figure out at the end of the month why you cant pay your $30 water bill....look you just spent $100 on frivilous coffee.
You need to set manageable money goals and work towards them. Right now I am working on saving $1900 over the next 10 months so we can build a new deck. We had to decide if we go on vacation at Christmas or save the money for the deck. Which is more important, because we will not be able to do both.

Just spend the money for things that we NEED, not for things that we WANT.
By doing so, we can minimize the amount of money we spent :D
Writing down the earning and spending would also be a good way to control our expense.
And also, how about make a design for future life? By doing so, maybe we can save some money and the money doesn't "fly" so easily :)
