I pray a lot and I talk to God a lot. I am in a icky situation that is testing my faith or at least trying to. What do you do when you are in such a bad situation that no one seems to be able to help except for the Lord. I seem to depend on Him more and more as I grow older.

Praying is a lifestyle. Anywhere, anytime, we can always talk to God. I talk to God a lot. In times of trouble, I am confident HE is my strength. In happy times, I talk to God as well. I can't thank Him enough for blessing me.

I so much agree with you averygirl that praying must be a lifestyle. God is constantly waiting for us to call unto Him so we can rely to Him anytime and anywhere, that he'll listen to us and answer our prayers. But just keep in mind that not all answer to prayers is "yes" because sometimes it could be a "no". We must pray whether in good or bad times because that gives us strength. You're right that there's not enough words to describe His goodness in our lives.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
all the best urban

Hi catof1, I consider life itself to be a prayer, after all it is pointless to pray one way and live another. I do like to meditate and talk to the God within, as I seek guidance in living my life. As I've grown older I've found my ideas about God and religion changing. Be still and know that I am God, has become my motto and I've learned not to be judgemental . Blessings.

When you ask for help you must accept that help is there and you must truly let go.
When I first started praying for help, I had in my mind exactly what I wanted the result to be. After a few years I realized that this was just human ego. So then I would just pray for strength to accept whatever came my way, I feel this is still ego. So now I ask for the most benevolent outcome, (MBO) and leave it at that, with no ego involvement. Remember that just the attention you give a situation sends a lot of energy and if you have asked for help you have done what you can.
This has to do with emotional and spritual matters, with hands on problems you need to get physically involved, but it still helps to ask for MBO. Blessings

Hi Catof1. Me I talk to God HE don't talk back but I talk to HIM all day everyday. It seems like times are tough for a lot of us. But you know what if life was easy something would be wrong in our lives. God don't put more on any of us then HE has put on everyone in some way or fashion. And God always shows us a way out of what ever the problems are in our lives. Been depending on God most of my life. When I get worried or concerned about something I listen to the teacher of Gods word and seems like God shows me something everytime.

I have learned so much from him and thank God I found this teacher. He teaches the bible like it was meant to be taught chapter by chapter and verse by verse. He don't sit there the whole hour asking for money either he talks about Gods word the whole time. I think that God meant for this man to teach Gods word the way it was meant to be taught.

I myself pray 3 times a day, morning, afternoon and evening but it also depends on what is happening. When one finds them self in a troublesome spot they should turn to G-d and ask for help. We should also give thanks for the good and not forget where it is coming from.

I pray every night and sometimes a few times a day. I've noticed now that I've been praying daily good things have been happening for me. A few months ago I wasn't praying so regularly and things weren't happening for me. I was getting down on myself and just wasn't getting anywhere. Now that I've been praying and doing more to help myself, I've had the energy and gumption to do what I need to do, and I'm a lot happier.
Prayer does work, it does help. It may not help everyone, but it sure does me.

The bible tells us to pray without ceasing. I don't believe that means we should be constantly on our knees and not to do anything else. I believe that it means to be in an attitude of prayer at all times. We need to pray about all those troublesome times and to thank God for the good times.

If I say truly then I pray very often. Means when I go to any temple then I pray and in my home I never pry to God. Because I am not habitual of this. I know that is a very bad thing because I don’t have habit of Praying to God. So now I want to start pray daily.

Hi there!
We pray everyday five times a day. With this rule we are not just remembering Him when we are in bad situations but both when we are good and bad. Aside the five times a day prayers, We can pray and praise him anytime we want. God always hear us but we can't say that because he knows that we are in problem he will help us as when we are in bad or good situation it is actually a test for us.

Ipray five times a day and pray when I like too. I think that I have God as a friend and in all that I do, I know there is a God beside me. I think that it is good to have an open relationship with God through prayers and I believe that prayes is a sign of faith. We should not only pray during difficult times, we should also know how to thank Him when we recieve blessings.

I don't pray. When I am in a difficult situation, I work it out for myself. I depend on myself. I do meditate, however, and find this very helpful at clearing the mind so that I can think clearly and figure out the best decision.

You know, anything you do, more and more, the more you get attached to it and see it as more of a necessity in your life, no matter what it is. Praying is more like keeping to yourself, and just talking it over. It's a good way to get through problems, but you shouldn't be pushing more and more to do it, or else you'll get yourself into a situation where you feel like you can't be doing things on your own. Don't become too much of an addict.

I too, I am also in icky that is testing my faith big times! I pray every day. Just provide smaller details, I found a brand new friend last november as I got closer he even invites me to spend christmas with his parent and brothers and sisters in which I did including reading week. Boy what an unexpected blessing I say!
Right now this same friend move back home for the summer with the promise that I come spending time with this friend! Weeks after, same friend wrote on my facebook hoping I come, I did reply by saying perhaps we should start planning! Did I heard from that? Not at all!
After each post on my wall by him, I keep on remind him on same thing and still no replies. He even send a txt, same thing and his cell broke at same. What give?
Over a week ago, he got hooked by a female companion!
Seeing he doesn't reply to any FB wall post, I decide to send a messages on why all post being ingored, He then reply in saying I am his best friend as no even dare asking him such question! Phew!
Last Wed/thur, I got a huge burden in praying for this guy so he get some discernments regarding that relationship with that female. As I was praying, I read some devotion guide and my eye fell exactly on passage that deal what I've been praying about. So I posted this on my facebook wall and a hour later, guess who did like same passage? Same guy that I was praying about! The Lord is reaching!
Seeing how the Lord provided an answer to my prayer since last Wed/thur and since that I know that my need discernments, I can say that Satan dressed himself as an angel of light, please mylot army, pray for my friend to see this in God's timing and still using Godspeed! Amen! So be it!

like you I also pray a lot, I think that's my way of telling myself that everything will be alright because God is always there to guide me. because sometimes there are things that I can't tell to anyone even on my closest friend, It's only God who I can confide to and ask for guidance.

As a muslim, we have an obligatory prayers 5 times a day (dawn3am, noon11am, afternoon3pm, sunset530pm & night8pm) and voluntary ones at 1am. In between the day , we remember Allah when we wake up, getting dress, going out from the house, entering & leaving the mosque, drinking water, etc.

Prayer is the vital connection we have to God and naturally the more we need help we reach out.I'm not like that. I do pray alot( not as much as I used to) but I realize i pray more when I'm on ' the mountain top' side o experiences but when I'm in the 'valley' there seems to be barriers or blockages that makes praying harder. If there are other who experience this, it is then we have to persevere and pray even when we dont feel like it. Pray that God gives strength and that His will is done.
